Hi, I just recently tried a mid dose (20mg) of DMT outdoors in an open field. The experience was amazing, so beautiful, the molecule showed me the world as I never saw it before.
I couldn't help but wonder what would have been the experience of taking it in, for example, a very busy place (one that comes to mind would be hachiko crossing in shibuya/tokyo), or other places outdoors, on a beach, in a forest or in public places (of course, staying at sub breakthrough doses and being very discrete, for example using an ecig as ROA, wearing sunglasses etc...)
now I'm not saying I'll go out there and do it, I'll do it in nature, outdoors for sure, but I don't really mean to go to public places etc... But I can't help wondering how it would be, and if anyone ever tried it?

I've vaped very low doses out of an E-vape in public settings. We were in the middle of a grass lawn in a park during an art festival. It was pleasant. I would advise assessing your surroundings and see if it is an OK fit at the time - dont rush into anything out of curiosity. I don't think I would want to vape more than the smaller amount that I did. Sometimes it's good for a change. Other times it isn't.

It depends on you and (as far as i can tell) the luck of the draw.
As i have, once, smoked a sub-breakthrough dose in a somewhat crowded places with somewhat positive results, im not one who would say it is terrible. But most of the time i found the presence of strangers quite distracting. Where I was trying to let go, that "good-householder" part of the ego was trying to make sure i didn't look too much like a red-flag. Like even though confounding bliss as going on, i couldn't pay enough attention to it and that just caused more anxiety than healing.
So, there's one account.
There isn't just one reason the nexus discourages public consumption of DMT, there are many.

There isn't just one reason the nexus discourages public consumption of DMT, there are many. and it's not even remotely hard to come up with quite a few reasons. it's perfectly understandable. So far, DMT is kind of under the radar, the last thing we need is someone getting busted using it in public. I don't know but I was thinking about that tokyo hachiko crossing as in, it would be very easy to not be noticed as there can be thousands of people, each minding his own business. The interresting part would be that in such places, you can see some sort of "group behaviour", people unknowignly being part of an apparent network, like a common conscience. I lived in japan a few years ago and there seemed to me, at the time, that japanese people may be more "connected" to each other, more of a "unity". I'm guessing this would be interesting to observe through DMT filter. Like for example in the morning hours, witnessing that "army" of salary men going to work. Even sober, it can be a very disturbing view (when you're in a train where everyone but you is dressed exactly the same, for example) it's very risky and probably not a good idea. I just entertain the idea, imagine what it would be like

Personally I prefer it as far away from people as possible. I don't like anything to detract or clutter my experiences . I'm not sure that a crowded city type environment would add anything positive in my opinion. I have tried it with about five to seven friends around, and their glares while tripping did have an effect. If I knew people weren't paying attention to me directly, I'm not sure how much of an effect their presence would have. And when I breakthrough, I am generally not influenced much by many of my surroundings, if any (music/sounds could have an effect, however). And for the Japan thing, those people have creeped me out ever since seeing "Enter The Void." I'm not sure I would want to try it there after that movie... Time and a place for EVERYTHING BRaugh. SO far one of the Best experiences I have had was in a huge crowd at Seattle Hempfest sitting in the grass in the electronic music tent chooglin on a 3 foot glass bong surrounded by hippies. Took 3rd big pull look up and see a policeman looking at me. He smiled and threw a bag of cheetos at me. It was AWESOME! ANother Good one comming up this spring is the Seattle Folk life fest. Of particular interest will be the Portalnd Gamelon Orchestra.
I don't know how much I'd be able to enjoy it in a country full of suicidal factory workers who lock folks in a cage for 6 years of intensive buddhist behavioral modification for reefing on a doobie. Watch enter the void Braugh. Although Kabuki and tea with a foot massage could be just the thing.

The awesome Vovin posted once about being interviewed by the news in Florida while he was still on dmt. I think there had been some crime in his neighborhood and he was walking past when some news people put a camera in his face and asked him for his reaction. I'm not sure how that would work, ie if it was pharma or if he was still feeling the effect of freebase. I couldn't find it by searching but perhaps one of the more long standing members can link to it.

I was under the influence of changa and quite a lot at the time. I was experimenting with how DMT would effect you while out of a safe environment. The hardest part of such undertaking suprisingly enough are stairs. Given that I had a daily practice of walking down a wooden bike trail in orlando, I was quite accustomed to being under the influence of DMT will in public. At the time of the television interview I was on a walk late in the evening and a local walgreens had been robbed. The reporter seeing me walking asked me about crime in the area and then went about publicly recording me as I answered. It was a short 2 minute interview. I was kind of surprised he didnt react to the fact that my eyes were fully dilated as they often are under DMT. It is within my nature to push the envelope. If you don't sin, Jesus died for nothing.
