That's really strange. From what i've read petroleum ether should work fine, although i've never used it myself. Maybe order some naphtha online & try with that but make sure to find the msds & make sure its clean before ordering. Should be vm&p as well. I'm not sure what brands are used outside the u.s., but here naphtha is fairly inconspicuous to buy, it's sold as paint thinner & there are many brands available (klean strip & crown have worked well for me)

Drying it slowly gives time for it to warm up and redissolve your DMT. I'm not sure what's in petrol ether but if it's anything like diethyl ether I'd advise not using it for safety considerations. Naptha is pretty tried and true, though

I hear you, I've been looking for Naphtha everywhere but as available as it is in the USA, it's not over here. I don't have any other explanation for why the free precip wouldn't be working, what is the time you should keep it in the freezer on average?

I'm going to put this back in the freezer and wait a few days instead of just 14 hours; http://i.imgur.com/tPpO9hf.jpgIt really should be very potent, and because of what 1ce said this seems like the only way to go. Unless a refreeze is bad and this is lost / should be used for another extraction.

Try putting it on the coldest setting possible & leaving your covered dish in there for 24-48hours. You should evap your solvent down until it clouds when blown on before freezing. I always mix the first 3 pulls, then leave it out uncovered for a couple days until its ~75ml. Watch how fast it's evaporating though, when my heat kicks on the solvent evaps completely while i'm sleeping occasionally. Optionally, yoi can stick the dish covered in the fridge for 24hrs after it evaps down, then move to the freezer for 24hrs. Normally i get bigger crystals that way but it doesn't matter because they get crushed & re crystallized a couple times after that anyways. Also, there are other solvents you can use for extraction (limonene, hexane, xylene) but they pull an oily red product. It is perfectly useable, but if you like a nice, powdery, crystally spice then it requires more cleanup.

So my layer is wayyy too thick, this must be something like 150-200 ml, not 75 ml. That's probably it?

The solvent needs to be evaporated down until it's super saturated with dmt in order for freeze precip to work. 200ml can hold ALOT of dmt before it's saturated enough to freeze precip. For future reference, some people like to freeze each pull separately, but then you get smaller amounts of spice over a couple days. You can do 3 pulls & mix the solvents in one tray to evap down, that way you get it all at once.

Doing the evap now and then the freeze precip, it indeed contains 3 pulls so that's why it is a higher amount. Will let you guys know about the results. I wonder if my hot plate stirrer became kind of useless after finding the new Tek here https://wiki.dmt-nexus.m...7_Tek#Required_Equipment

I wonder if my hot plate stirrer became kind of useless after finding the new Tek here https://wiki.dmt-nexus.m...7_Tek#Required_Equipment hope it goes well That first journey with nice clean spice produced on your own is very rewarding. & as for the hotplate, it can be incorporated. Get a hang of cybs tek first. Then after that, incorporate the hotplate. It is not necvessary, but it's a very valuable tool in extraction of any type. No shaking/stirring by hand, & very precise control over temperature (more so than a stove or crockpot)

A couple things to bear in mind while using a hotplate:
You don't want to overheat and mix your solvent causing your mixing container to overpressurize.
I often let my initial brew get pretty warm and toasty to help break down plant matter. But it is important to let everything cool down significantly prior to pulling (even if your container can with-stand high heat/pressures) because the hotter your mixture gets the more fats and tannins you'll extract from the bark with your DMT. Somewhere between warm and room temp is perfect.
I mix my solvent many times (about 4). Mix, let it separate, and mix again.
