I went further than I planned....
I took two hits of about 150mg changa (50mg spice) (I didn't measure it, just eyeballed). I've never before experienced such a loss of body and self. In the beginning, I noticed I wasn't breathing and it REALLY freaked me out. The music was not audible either. Instead, I heard vibrations and a rapid "thumping". I could only assume it was my heart but it sounded like it was going at 400+ bpm.
Anyways, so much time passed that I soon forgot what I was hanging onto so dearly and had the most amazingly beautiful experience of my life. My body did not exist in this other place... I was made of something else. In summary, I was in a psychedelic room dancing with a vibrating mechanical ribbon of light while an audience of other small mechanical but very happy light beings watched. In this realm, dance was a language. We danced across the entire multiverse together for what seemed like thousands of earth years. Needless to say, I experienced extreme time dilation.
Soon I started to become aware of something strange... In time, I discovered it to be my physical body that I forgot all about. I was happy to be back so I immediately opened my eyes and saw a high contrast black and white dimension of this physical reality. On the couch, I expected to see 2 people (my brother and his gf). But instead, I only saw one large entity on the couch that was glowing with warmth. I immediately knew this was the dimension where love is visible with the eyes. They love each other so much that they are now one single ball of energy, literally connected at the hip so to speak. This lasted for 3 or 4 minutes until I was back to normal.
I'm really glad I did this trip in the presence of a sitter because I was a bit worried that I might vomit and not be able to move (or something like that). I've had less intense breakthroughs where I still remember I'm on the couch and can feel my breathing if I pay attention. But the feeling of not breathing and my heart beating at 300bpm from this experience still scares me. I want to go back there but I really need to hear other people tell me that the breathing and heart rate thing is normal...

Disclaimer: have not smoked DMT myself.
Elevated hear rate is very common. Many users report a lack of breathing, or a "throat marble", which does not seem to cause problems.
Also, 50mg of spice is a pretty big dose. I would expect it to have that kind of strong effect. Perhaps in the past you have not gotten the full dose due to technique?
Sounds like it ended beautifully. Hope someone else with experience will chime in.
