Simple warm vinegar and/or normal alcohol work just fine, no need to get some specialized product.

If I’m going the vinegar route I use vinegar with no water and add rock/sea salt for abrasion (oversaturate it). After I wash out with water and a very tiny amount of detergent, followed by a rinse with plain water. Hey presto! Lovely clean GVG! =) I use IPA more often so I get the spice back though.

Acetone is also great for the GVG, especially if you want to re-use the collected material. I only really use vinegar if there is very stubborn residue in the pipe which is fairly rare. I prefer IPA or acetone as it evaporates off so quickly and you can have the spice back.

For quick clean and not caring about the spice you get back add salt to it as well. It beats 420 cleaner by far. as rock salt and acetone are about $10 total and you get the quart of it compaired to about 10 ounces...

I just run some warm water and a little 91% isopropyl thru, then I plug both ends up with my finger tips and just give it a gentle back and forth rolling shake then let it pour out the mouth side, and air dry til all is evaporated.
