Even Symbiotic Relationships are Forced Scientists Discover

Much Peace and Kindness

For small creatures such as we the vastness is bearable only through love.

The fate of our times is characterised by rationalisation and intellectualisation and, above all, by the disenchantment of the world.

it is interesting, while at the same time I cant help but think this is typical of scientists to come to these kinds of conclusions. Just becasue a protein is released by the fungus that sedates the immune system of the plant while the process takes place, does not necessarily mean its a "forced" relationship in the context that the title seems to suggest.
Long live the unwoke.

You mean `person who wrote the news article` instead of `scientists` jamie?

Doesn´t seem like that wording was used in the publication itself, more like the supposed journalist writting about the publication using some catchy headline.

Thanks for sharing Aegle, def interesting stuff Smile

I do apologize for the sensationalist headline, please if you can ignore it as the findings and the research are incredibly fascinating.

It's interesting that it sedates the immune system initially, but I know some fungal endophytes serve as immune systems for some plants, producing antibacterial and microbial agents. Its as if the fungus says "Shh.. I've got it from here". I see that this fungus is a rhizosphere fungus and sounds like it functions mainly in increasing nutrient absorption, but I wouldn't be surprised to hear of a same 'hushing' of the immune system in fungi that serve as host protectors.
