First batch pulled from the freezer this morning. Orion's tek altered a little... 100g of shed bark from some sort of Acacia Mucronata... lye increased to 150g (not enough i think... started forming an emulsion on the first pull... had run out of lye and ended up pulling some of the aqueous to make room for adding some salt and set on a heat bath, got most of the naptha back after 15-20 mins. I was a little less vigorous with my mixing on the next 2 runs and didn't have any trouble with emulsions.

Yet to weigh the resulting white powder... 100 - 150 mg i'm guessing by the look of it... that would make for a whopping .15% Pleased

Any thoughts on my results... this is my first foray into the land of DMT... just felt right to use this particular source.... intuition???.....

BTW half of naptha was evapped before cooling

A.mucronata has been found to have an interesting alkaloid profile have a look around the forum. Which sub species is it?
As for the tek, did you do an acid soak/simmer/boil and freeze-thaw lyse beforehand?
Again check one of the threads for a suitable tek, 'acacia extraction workplace' is a good place to start.
Is there a reason you used bark when phyllodes are just as good? Easier to extract from and more importantly better for the species population and the individual tree itself.
Stripping bark ( the trees armour and skin) can result in the tree getting infected and dying a slow death.
Also if you were successful getting psychedelic alkaloids from it then you may not be successful next time as the tree may have changed its alkaloid profile to cope with the breach of its defenses.

Cheers, for your tips DreaMTrpper.

Don't worry... i didn't harm the tree. It was shedding bark so i decided to use what was being offered.

i think its some sort of mucronata sub. mucronata hybrid of some sort... they grow in the area but are generally a bit smaller than this one. possibly longifolia.

i did the acid boil... definitely did not do a freeze-thaw lyse (is this just to help break down the cells?)

It is indeed, helps maximise yield. The more lysing through the extraction the better.
A good method is to first cover plant material in 50/50 water/ ethanol and boil steadily for 30 mins, decant liquid and save it. Then freeze-thaw in pH4 solution.
Then boil in that same water for 1hr then decant liquid and repeat twice more or if using a stove isnt convenient then just soak them for a week and leave in a warm place such as a radiator or airing cupboard shaking/stirring occasionally.
Basify and extract with NPS. Back salt optional to clean extract/reduce solution then basify again and you can pull with much less NPS.
Acacia needs thorough lysing.

thanks again for the tips. ^ Smile
will report on how it goes... tried 15-20, with poor vaping technique, definitely felt "something" mildly pleasant, though it was quite brief and nothing too noticeable.
