I love how at 50:22 the peyote shaman blows out the candles after the ceremony and says "time for a beer!"
And the dude with the dreadlocks looked like he was about to pass out while sacrificing the goat!

I've seen this doc a time ago, good one!
There is some controversy about bringing the huichol-cacti-ceremony-combo out of it's particular cultural perimeter. Some huicholes do it, some are opposed. In this doc, very interesting, the mara'akame himself declares not to be sure how the spirit would react to it, feeling a little un-easy, but he felt dared to do it anyway.

Rude dude wasn't feeling so hot about the bambi.
Akira talking about his travels in mexico at the beginning was inspiring. I want to see it sometime.

I loved this documentry. I have been doing lots of work lately trying to understand the ways oofmy ansestors and weather or not to share these traditional ways to the world. I have been quite hesitant in this subject on weather or not people will really appreciate the knowledge and weather people looking into mesc would or not really benefit from the ancient ways. Anyways i have hope in our youth that they would take the time to learn the ways as one of the correct ways of consuming Peyote, and if the person in question will benefit by a roadman. I was confronted as being ignorant for suggesting that consuming the peyote in this ancient manner is the right way of consuming it. I mean if you are gonna grow and or consume peyote at least learn the cultural aspect on it.
