I am very taken by the concept of changa. As a newcomer to this world, I have not yet attempted to extract dmt(somewhat intimidated by the various teks I have reviewed) so have none to use. However, I do have access to 5md hcl. I was considering choosing a carrier herb and infusing with 10x liquid caapi (which I have) and then infusing with 5md. I could dissolve the 5md hcl and use the hcl solution or evap out the hcl and dissolve the remaining free base (if this is possible? is it possible?) and then infusing my leaf with the 5md. Is this a good idea. If so, any additional recommendations. I do realize that 5md is much more dose sensitive so that may make a difference. Thanks for the assistance.

You can't evaporate off the HCl, instead, it has to be neutralized. If you were to neutralize with eg. NaOH (soda lye), the result would be your freebase + NaCl + H2O. The detailed operation requires some basic chemistry calculations.
Changa is properly a combination of dmt and harmala alkaloids on herbs. Be careful when combining 5meo-dmt with harmala alkaloids. It a much less common combination. You should thoroughly research this forum for any information with regard to this combination. I faintly remember that oral 5meo-dmt in combination with maoi like harmaline can be tricky. Smoking may be safer, but you should IMHO investigate this. If you manage to freebase your 5meo-dmt, you can always infuse it into some herbs without the harmalas.
Consider using at least 10 times more herbs by weight, so you can better dose the meo-dmt.

I would probably try smoking the 5-MeO by itself without any caapi first before venturing further. Being extremely experienced with N,N, even a sliver of smoked 5-MeO caught me completely off guard. For any of the 5-MeO experiences I've had so far, I wouldn't have wanted any of them to have harmala potentiation with them. "Science without religion is lame. Personally, I don't see any reason that 5-MeO-DMT would need to be potentiated with RIMA's. IIRC, 5-MeO-DMT has a much lower LD50 than N,N-DMT. If this is indeed the case, potentiating with RIMA's would definitely increase the risk. If you do decide to add harmalas into the mix, do a lot of research on dosage and toxicity first.
