Greenish Harmala stuff? Options

Okay this is pretty weird. I tried to extract syrian rue seeds, and I did so rather hastily and without really knowing what to do by experience.
My end product is quite a substantial amount of greenish-yellow fluorescent powder that turns the color of mountain dew when you put it in a bit of water. Is this normal for a citrate salt of harmine/aline?

my harmalas HCL and Acetates make fluorescent water, but the seeds also turn anything that color, so it's not a good indicator of what you actually have there Razz

i would think one could just a/b the extract, and it would come out reasonably pure.

i am not well versed in citrate (i believe citric acid will form sodium citrate with most bases, iirc), but i think it could be as simple as dissolving in vinegar (or water, if citrate is acceptable), filtering heavily, and then either manske'ing or base precip'ing it.

don't take my word on that, but it could be a possible solution.

Do you guys think it would be safe to bioassay?

Okay so the powder has been dried in the toaster oven on 150 for 15 minutes, and my total yield is about 7 grams of vibrant yellow powder which tastes a bit salty and a bit bitter. I feel like 7 grams is far too much material to have gained from 100 g of syrian rue.

Basically what I did, as best as I can remember is I boiled it three times, reduced, filtered perhaps a little too lightly, then I think I added some salt... and basified, then, I think, and I've gone back and forth between base and acid like three times.
This time when I put like an entire lemon in the shit to try to get it down to a reasonable pH, I ended up filtering out a bunch of sediment that I kept which turned white when it dried, which I suspect to be salts of calcium hydroxide and citric acid. It's basically tasteless when I dabbed some on my tongue out of curiousity and spat back out, which didn't make my saliva fluoresce like the yellow shit I have.

I'm betting I have a lot of adulterants in this because this was kind of a pilot experiment and it was done very badly.
I can successfully make oily yellow DMT and quite a bit of it now in an evening, and make it snow white the next. This is a little bit different of a menthod, and frankly I would prefer to end up precipitating out of an organic non-polar solvent instead of fishing the crap out of salt water.

I forgot to mention:
I also reduced that lemon juice-containing stuff down to almost zero water, as much as I could without burning it. Could my fix be as simple as re-dissolving in water, decanting, and re-reducing? I feel like the water would be able to absorb all of the pollutants, but I don't know.
