Bizzare Reaction To Marijuana: Is This Normal Options

I was hanging out with a few friends earlier this weekend, a bowl was going around (I abstained, so my report comes from 100% sober observation) and I noticed one of my friends having a really interesting reaction that I had never seen before.

The cannabis seemed to be inducing some kind of quasi-seizure, or fit. He was tensing all his muscles, his face contorting into silent screams. He was rocking around, flexing his fingers, running his hands through his hair and pulling at his skin. Every muscle in his body was tensing and he was generally thrashing around.

All of this was in a weird, robotic slow motion, kind of like he was moving through soup.

We asked him about it, concerned that he was having a seizure or something, and he said it was fine, he always "tweaked out" when he smoked and he felt like he was having an orgasm with his whole body, which was awesome.

He seemed coherent (for someone who had smoked a lot of weed, that is), and he claimed it happens all the time, so we just let him do his thing and eventually he calmed down.

Has anyone else seen anything like this? Maybe he just gets really awesome body highs? It was almost scary to watch.

Blessings

I get that but with Shrooms or Ayahuasca.
As a regular cannabis smoker I find that very strange.

That's so funny only because your friend is the only other person I've ever heard of that happening to. When I first started smoking for the first good year or so, I would tweak out hard just like that. My face would involuntarily contort and twitch into all sorts of unnatural positions. It would freak my friends out, and they would be concerned that I was uncomfortable, but I was loving every God given moment of it. Sometimes my eyes would seal themselves shut, and I wouldn't be able to open one or both. Haven't gotten that high in a while, but it's nothing to be concerned about for your friend. You should really be more envious of him than anything else Laughing

When I read the title to your thread, I was hoping that you were going to be talking about this very phenomenon. Some of my friends would think I was "faking" it too...well they did at first, anyway. It's not even a state that I can fully emulate when I'm not over-the-top high. I can't do those facial expressions on command. I miss those good ole simple days.

I know from my Neurologist, that Marijuana is actually a highly effective seizure medication, so that seems very strange.
He suggested that for my minor epilepsy, instead of medication I could be stoned 24/7, but said to not try that Razz he's just saying that it would work haha.

Its a kind of locked in anxiety attack that happens with low tolerance but the weed cuts some of the symptoms out its weird it happens to me now and again the weed also simultaneously remedies it and after it subsides you feel better than ever almost like a purging of the subconcious.

Maybe the weed was laced with synthetic cannibinoids to be passed off as higher grade? I've read that those cause seaizures as is/was the case with synthetic cannabis(Spice, k2... etc).
Understand: Nature knows no EVIL, Nature knows no GOOD, people know these things, because we perceive these things, with the gift of senses given to us at birth. A good or bad experience is simply a bridge to a another existential time frame, so always live in the moment and make every one a positive moment!

Any and all posts or interactions are to be held as my fictional writings/short stories or dreams. I may even have some delirium setting in, I've never been tested for it. The only exception to this is the statement about nature above, I feel this is a fact!

It could be possible. I only smoked that disgusting stuff once and felt like I was on a bad trip, but I doubt it because based on his description that's the way I would get every time I smoked for the first half a year or so I started smoking. The description match is perfect, and those synthetics hadn't been developed or marketed yet.

If you were in the same room with the others, you must have inhaled some of the smoke in the air to make you less that 100% soberRazz

Maybe that alone triggered intense hallucinations of quasi-seizing entities in your vision.

Never anything as intense as your friend, but when I used to smoke a lot I would get twitching and involuntary muscle spasms. One of my friends even commented on it once. The difference is that I wasn't even aware of it at the time Laughing

It had nothing to do with synthetic cannabinoids. I used to get these twitches before the synthetic cannabinoids were even popular...about fifteen years ago.

I used to get them when I smoked cannabis while on tryptamines too. Mushrooms in particular.

Sometimes my ear drums involuntarily flutter when very high, particularly on oral cannabis. I can't even voluntarily access those inner ear muscles.

It depends on the weed. If I use weed with a lot of pinene, I have that exact reaction. It happened to me recently. I felt super awake and a bit shakey and I felt like my insides were swimming around, I had a huge smile on my face.
