DXM chemical potentiation? Options

Okay, so I'm not a chemist at all, but I HAVE been reading a bunch of PiKHAL lately and it gave me an idea.

I USED to like DXM. I did it for way too long and questionable things are happening to my body so I've stopped in the last few years.

I feel it's due to relatively large dosage requirements. My tolerance got me up to 1500mg+.

I read something about 'thio' versions of molecules where the central oxygen atom is replace with a sulfur atom. I think it was like the 3-TM or 4-TM entries, somewhere around there.

DXM also has a central O atom. Does anyone with more knowledge than me think this could be possible?

Maybe I could indulge responsibly once in awhile if there was some more potent form...

I won't go into it here, but at sane intervals DXM is one of the cooler substances I've done. And I mostly dig more of the garden variety psychedelics.

It's certainly possible that the methoxy group in DXM could be replaced with a sulfoxy group, but it would require some extensive chemistry knowledge to synthesize such a chemical and not something for the lay man. If a sulfonated version of DXM existed and was worth making, big pharma would likely have already had it on the market.

Unfortunately, it seems your only alternatives would be to increase the time period between dosing so your tolerance can drop or find a safe potentiator of DXM.
