BLAB-DMT fumerates turned out ok? Options

Hi guys,

So I followed BLAB with an added sodium carbonate wash in between step 3 and 4B- I added s.carb to my Limonene before adding the FASW.

I was going to use 1-propanol but unfortunately glass is very breakable when you're living with two very sweet but big and enthusiastic dogs. Maybe I should have not put it into glass but this site does underline not to use plastic containers so I put it in glass after my friend brought it over. Was that maybe not necessary for alcohol or still better?

Most of my limonene was already a bit milky before the s.carb wash. After evaporating the FASW added to the non milky limonene it had really formed some nice crystals on the plate. But I went along the next day and just added the FASW of the milky limonene and put it on top and had it all evaporate in the oven again except for the last bit which had cooled off for about 10 hours and I let the goo run over the plate to spread it out and then dry it some more by air over almost two days. These pictures are the result of that.

I just want to know if this looks ok for dmt fumerates and whether it maybe needs some more drying or if I can scrape it all up together already. Are there any DMT-oxides forming if I leave it out too long?

Also, I was going to do a water wash to get rid of all of the excess fumaric acid but I read an old post from bufoman that that is not necessary since I am going to convert it to freebase in the end anyway or will it still be in my freebase which would be more difficult to dose because of it?

I hope I make some sense but I just don't know much about chemistry and there is sooo much info on this site, a bit overwhelming reading so many different things.

Kind regards,
PPE

Good job! Now keep on going with the conversion/clean up Smile

It`s hard to judge by pictures because many things can look the same, but from what you describe, you`re doing well!

Dont throw anything away till you`re finished, in case something goes wrong you can always recover your alkaloids.

And give your dogs a big hug for being awesome (but yes keep them away from extraction stuff ) Very happy

Don't worry about it oxidizing. I have left freebase exposed to open air for several days and it did not oxidize. DMT fumarate is even more stable than freebase, so you will be fine.

I'm a little confused as to how you performed the sodium carbonate wash. It sounds like you just added dry sodium carb to the limonene. Did I misinterpret something?

Thanks guys.

For the s.carb wash I added a big pinch to d. water and separated it from the limonene so that should have been fine. Sorry about my wording there, read it back just now and I see your concern. Very happy

So is it still useful to get rid off the unreacted fumaric acid or is this not necessary since I am turning it to a freebase?

Kind regards,
PPE
