Kava Kava is a tropical plant that, from the root, a tea can be made that acts on GABA receptors to cause relaxation. I always read as much as I can before partaking in new plants and herbs. I have taken Kava Kava twice now and have noticed a rash developing. This rash will start almost immediately after ingestion. Others on the internet have reported similar side effects. People have said that it may depend on the strain and the person and the interaction between the two. I searched on the Nexus forums and found nothing on this possible reaction; Although, I feel this is an important notice to new Kava Kava drinkers.
The first night I drank Kava Kava, I made a hot bath directly after drinking the tea. I noticed a small rash on my feet which was VERY sensitive to the hot water. I had to essentially retract myself from the hot water and slowly integrate the heat to my sensitive feet.
Two nights later, I tried an extract from my local herb store. It was much easier to get down and was nice. Although this was a nice extract. I noticed 2 days AFTER that ingestion of the extraction that my upper chest had a mild ( not so sensitive ) rash.
I just was unable to find anything about this on the Nexus even though there are threads relevant to Kava. Personally, I feel that if you have a tiny slice of the cake you need to hear about all the weird side effects that can occur ( Supposedly depending on strain interaction with certain people as found on the internet ).

Kava Dermopathy is something regular and heavy drinkers of kava are familiar with. Some people also develop some kind of allergy against Kava. What you can try to do is to strain your brew more carefully or experiment more with extracts. The rash that developed 2 days later could be completely unrelated. Also try kavaforums.com

Thank you Obli. I appreciate it. I wish I could say it wasn't related to the Kava but the timing seemed to coincidental for me to believe otherwise. I will poke around that forum and see if anything enlightening is there "Think more than you speak" "How do you get rid of the pain of having pain in the first place? Well, I took it once more and I awoke with a rash just like before.
It HAS to be the Kava. I am still wondering if others have had this experience or what they think it might be.
I poked around on Kavaforums and they essentially said that because it was such a quick reaction to ingesting the kavalactones that it must be allergy related.
