I'm not sure exactly what the problem might be..

I did your basic stb extract:

-Started with a 750 ml wine bottle (as recommended by a few people for starter extracts)

-Added 500 ml distilled water

-Added 50 grams of sodium hydroxide small amounts at a time and mixed well until it all settled, became clear and the temp balanced out

-Added 50 grams of powdered Acacia Confusa Root Bark (from what I think is a reliable source) bit by bit, mixed well and let it sit for over an hour

-Added enough Naphtha to have an inch sitting on top of the bottom layer, stirred gently, turned the bottle and rolled it back and forth (as I've done on Mimosa Hostilis extracts) a few times and let it settle in between. I repeated this for an hour or so. No emulsions, so that was good

-Poured off the Naphtha and decanted until all that was left was Naphtha in a smaller jar

-Let it sit outside, sealed, for about 20 minutes before I decided to place in the freezer where it sat for another hour or so before I poured that into a fresh jar which I placed back in the freezer overnight

This morning I went to check it out and it looked like a small amount of crystals were forming until it was brought to room temp then the crystals seemed to dissolve. The first jar that was in the freezer had a very thin, sticky, clear layer of what sure smells like DMT. I've read that goo is more powerful than crystals which is great, but I NEED crystals simply because I like to measure my doses pretty accurately so I know what to expect with each experience...HOW THE HECK DO YOU GET CRYSTALS WITH ACRB?? Should I try a different tek? I used a process someone else has had great success with using Acacia Confusa..I'm a little bummed out about the results, but I know there is DMT in there, I can smell it! I'm evaporating the Naphtha now until it is reduced a bit to try to concentrate the DMT and hopefully help good crystals form when I put it back in the freezer. I kept all the bark I could save in the wine bottle so I could do more pulls. I just need help in modifying my approach so I end up with crystals. Mimosa seems a lot easier to deal with, but I can't get it where I am and I've read many good things about ACRB so if I can get it to work then praise be the DMT Gods!!

If You're Having Trouble Getting Crystals From ACRB, Use This Tek

There is so much information on this exact topic all over The Nexus. It is really encouraged that people use the search function and do a fair amount of their own research before posting a new topic. There are probably hundreds of this exact same topic already.

I tried the STB path with ACRB when I first started working with it, and I never had good results. You would probably be much better off upgrading to an A/B extraction. When I made the switch from STB to A/B, I started getting consistently higher yields from acacia confusa than I ever had from thorough STB extractions of mimosa hostilis.

Acacia goo is every bit as useful as crystals. If you're concern is weighing doses, make some enhanced leaf. Weigh a small amount of acetone, dissolve your goo in the acetone, weigh the acetone again to determine exactly how much goo is in it, and then evaporate the acetone onto some plant matter. Crystals look pretty, but that's really the only quality that makes them preferable to goo...

Alrighty, thanks for the input. I will go with the A/B route with my next attempt it's just slightly troublesome since I will have to use the stealth of night to do this without upsetting others in the household and to avoid interruptions.

It's just my mother and her boyfriend. I still live with my family, to say the least. Been trying to get a place lined up to do an a/b extract. My mother doesn't really have a problem with it, but would prefer her boyfriend not knowing, even though he would probably be ok with it as well. It's just out of respect for my mother's understood paranoia. Nothing sketchy, nobody would call the police or anything. It's just better to use a time when everyone is asleep. Stb is much easier to do while I have the workspace to myself. A/b requires a longer time slot, therefore it's easier for me to do it at night.

Absolutely, my mother is the one on the lease and she is fine with what I'm doing. I'm not asking for any stealth techniques or anything. I have seen a couple posts where people have talked about taking different approaches that were more approved by roommates and such, which is all I'm doing. My apologies, I should have said that a bit better. I did decide to wait for a friend to allow me to do an a/b extract and just work on what my mother has already approved of. Her boyfriend doesn't live with us either I should add. Just comes over during most days. My main concern is just not having to share the kitchen. With stb I'm able to do everything out of the way..

I am thinking of trying think-lights tek, but I am not sure if powdered Acacia Confusa Root Bark will work as well ??

Thick-Light's tek is specifically written for use with Acacia Confusa... "ACRB" = Acacia Confusa Root Bark. Powdered is recommended for any extraction, to maximize surface area.
