Well my friend has some cebil seed powder that he mixed with lime paste from an Asian store in a 10:3 ratio, let it sit like to react like usual before grinding to a fine dust like he usually does when extracting. This time though he put it in a sealed container and forgot about it for a few days and when he went to extract he ended up with an inactive goo, which is to be expected when you let it react with the lime for too long (as has been observed both here and personally). Now the wierd part is that even though the goo itself seems to be the now inactive 5-OH (yielded around the same as the active mix, looks and smells the exact same) the seed powder itself is still confirmed active by smoking, producing the exact same effects of properly reacted mix using sodium carbonate.
Now that I've explained that could somebody explain to me why the extraction yielded an inactive goo while the 'ruined' mixture still proved active and produced the same effects as the other 'good' powder? It's somewhat confusing to me since it theoretically should be inactive in both the raw and extracted form, correct?
Then again, I have read that some tribes will let their yopo sit for days or weeks to react further or ferment and still get and active.snuff so maybe.there is some chemical magic that I'm ignorant of. Any ideas or thoughts on why this powder is being selectively active would be appreciated, it's always good to have something to kick around in the ol' noggin.
"Whereas modern cynicism brought despair about the ability of the human species to realize laudable ideals, postmodern cynicism doesn't —not because it's optimistic, but because it can't take ideals seriously in the first place. The prevailing attitude is Absurdism. A postmodern magazine may be irreverent, but not bitterly irreverent, for it's not purposefully irreverent; its aim is indiscriminate, because everyone is equally ridiculous. And anyway, there's no moral basis for passing judgment. Just sit back and enjoy the show. " - Robert Wright
