I find these three super foods and drink to be one of the most amazing combination of mind and body enriches. Yerba Mate' is known as "the drink of the Gods" and as the "green gold of the Indios". Yerba Mate' boots your immune system, contains 196 active compounds more antioxidants then green tea less caffeine than coffee or black tea, 24 vitamins a wide range of polyphenols, methylxanthines and chlorogenic acid. Cacao Nibs have the highest levels of antioxidants according to the ORAC scale, Cacao beans contain 10,000 milligrams (10 grams) per 100 grams of flavonol antioxidants. This is a 10% antioxidant concentration level. Goji Berries not only are they delicious but they are rich in antioxidants, high in vitamin C, high in protein, High in iron. These all changed my life in such a big way that i had to share the amazing combination I'm vegetarian so the more nutrients i get the better. I hope that everyone gives this combination a try Much Peace

Mate's an acquired taste for sure, but once you get there it's brilliant. I've completly cut out coffee as a result of it, still working through the several keys I brought back from Argentina I find it gets a bad reaction in the workplace though. Has anyone else had that? I do not engage in or condone illegal activities. Most of what I write is on behalf of people I've bumped into, usually several years ago and in countries where the things I mention are legal.

Thats interesting, think it could well be addictive as Im missing it at the moment as the vendor I ordered from didnt deliver  When I ran out it was like oh no what am I going to do, as if I was addicted. I really liked the stimulating aspect of it, and the taste, id probably drink 3 mugs tops with milk and honey, ill go easy on it if the vendor comes through though, too much of anything cant be a good thing, plus im waiting on some theobromine so Ill be able to get the stimulating bit withoout the rest of it. Cheers for posting the link.

Alright. This is a truly embarrassing admission, but about 7 or 8 years ago, SWDIM (someone who DEFINITELY isn't me) spent a night in the ER over too much yerba mate. His friend recommended it, so he went out at lunch, bought a bag and bombilla (the straw-like filter contraption one uses to suck it down with), brought it back to work and honked on the fucker throughout the afternoon. He felt at first quite pleasantly energised, both mentally and physically alert, and then gradually, as he continued to fill up cup after cup after cup after cup (as he's prone to do with whatever substance he gets his filthy mitts on - and who knows how many times he did this as there's never a whole lot of liquid in a mug full of loose grounds - so maybe 30, maybe 40 refills over the course of 4-5 hours?), he started feeling progressively ringier, kept filling it up (genius that he is), became more and more toxic, kept on suckin' (like a total imbecile), until he eventually found himself delerious and vomiting HEAVILY and continuously for a good solid five or six hours. He truly felt as though he was closing in on a heart attack or stroke, so his disgustipated missus hauled his dumb ass to emergency, where they kept him a few hours replenishing fluids and looking at him like he was retarded.
Moral of story: There ain't a whole lot in this crazy ol' world that can't be mis-used and abused. Either that or Stick with the Starbucks. I'll leave it to SWIY to decide.

Quote:Yep, you'd go broke before hitting 40 refills. Not really. As it was explained to SWIM, you're meant to keep recycling the same grounds throughout the day. He had a big mug filled about 3/4 full with grounds, so every time he filled it back up (the same cup of grounds, getting a little more diluted each time), he was pouring in maybe 2-3 ounces of hot water, tops. It all seemed so fun and exotic, until the puke hit the fan (so to speak).

Quote:Goji Berry Facts: • 19 amino acids – the building blocks of protein, including all eight that are essential for life • 21 trace minerals, including manganese, magnesium, zinc, iron, copper, calcium, cobalt and selenium • more protein than whole wheat • a complete spectrum of antioxidant carotenoids, including beta-carotene and zeaxanthin. • B-complex vitamins, necessary for converting food into energy • E Vitamins (very rarely found in fruits, only in grains and seeds) • Beta-Sitosterol, an anti-inflammatory agent. Beta-Sitosterol also helps lowers cholesterol and has been used to treat sexual impotence and helps reduce prostate enlargement • Cyperone, a sesquiterpene that benefits the heart and blood pressure, alleviates menstrual discomfort . • Betaine, which is used by the liver to produce cholin, a compound that calms nervousness, enhances memory, promotes muscle growth and protects against fatty liver disease. Betaine also provides methyl groups in the body’s energy reactions and can help reduce levels of homocysteine, a prime risk factor in heart disease. It also protects DNA. • Essential fatty acids, which are required for the body’s production of hormones and for the smooth functioning of the brain and nervous system. • Goji berries contain bioactive polysaccharides, also called proteoglycans, a family of complex carbohydrates that are bound to proteins. They are produced by some plants as an extremely effective defence mechanism against attack by viruses, bacteria etc. Although many plants produce small amounts of bioactive polysaccharides, it seems that those with the highest levels of these protective compounds are those that are themselves more sorely in need of protection. Goji Berries must attempt to survive under great stresses such as the extremes of temperature, high altitude or wildly unpredictable precipitation. No plant on earth grows under more stressful conditions than Goji berries. Fortunately for humans, many of these protective effects are conferred upon us when we eat plants that are rich in polysaccharides.
TOP 10 BENEFITS OF POLYSACCHARIDES Research evidence suggests that Polysaccharides may help to: 1. Protect against tumour growth 2. Neutralise the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation 3. Help normalise blood pressure 4. Help balance blood sugar 5. Combat autoimmune disease 6. Acts as an anti-inflammatory 7. Balance immune function 8. Lower cholesterol and blood lipids 9. Increase calcium absorption Sounds like bloody good stuff! Seen 250g of sundried ones selling under 8 quid(included P&P) Is this price reasonable?
