I've found a few papers on extracting alkaloids with the aid of ultrasound transducers to assist the extraction process. It seems like it's an effective way to extract alkaloids but there's not much I could find specific to DMT.

One paper did a comparison of different extractions methods on Mitragyna speciosa and the ultrasound assisted extraction (UAE) yielded slightly less total alkaloid than a highly efficient supercritical CO2 extraction but the UAE was more selective and yielded a higher fraction of mytragine.

Could it be applied to DMT extraction to speed the process and maybe reduce energy inputs to perform an extraction ?

what does the ultrasound transduction do?

lyse the cells or something?


also, how cool a job would it be to dink around with ultrasound while testing methods of extracting kratom. i can't believe people get payed for that kind of work.

A couple of us have experimented with this method.
There's no special treatment for DMT, or any other alkaloid; just be mindful of sonication time.
