There seems to be disagreement on what to do in the case of an emulsion (that won't go away after just letting the jar sit for a few hours). SWIM was pretty sure adding more lye solution would help, but read some posts that seemed to say it wouldn't.

Clarification please?

Thanks a lot,
Zip

yes adding more high ph lye solution helps in a lot of cases..

warm bath and slight tapping on the side of the container also helps

also adding pure salt (quite a lot) works

^ everything endlessness said.

Vibrations (from a massager, vibrator, or the like) will break up emulsions pretty quick.

Heat works well
Salt works like a charm and is a lot less dangerous than lye, not to mention cheaper
tapping works

Add some salt, heat it up a bit, tap the sides and wait.

I am certifiably insane, as such all posts written by me should be regarded as utter nonsense or attempts to get attention.

I don't know SWIM and personally don't trust him at all. If SWIM is posting, most likely I will not respond...as I said, I don't trust the guy. YOU I trust, but never SWIM.
