Here's what I'm drinking in the morning: 1 banana. 2 Large handfuls of spinach. 1 Tbsp bee pollen. 1 Tbsp cocnut oil. 1 Teaspoon honey. Probably a touch of water too to help it flow. Also just because water's good stuff I've been meaning to include some raw greens in my breakfast for ages but could never stomach them in mornings. I can't believe the green smoothie concept only just struck me. Always start your day with an honest helping of greens

Nice to see Nexus peeps bigging up the smoothies!! I drink one of these literally every day and have been doing so for quite a few years. I can see a friend has beat me to it and chimed in with one of my recipes already! I would just like to recommend the combination of raw cocoa and maca powder together...a good synergy there! Now I've discovered it, both of these two things are essential smoothie ingredients for me (along with all the other good stuff!) On a smoothie related tangent, do any of you juice fruit and veg?? Another great thing to do. One of my fave juice recipes: - an apple - a few carrots - a stick or two of celery - a handful of spinach - a small chunk of ginger Serve with ice, to preserve goodies. Taste the fruit/veg rainbow!

Diggin up an old thread, but I just have to say...I LOVE SMOOTHIES! I've been doing a blend of raw vegetables and fruits. Carrots, beets, tomatoes, celery, banannas, apples...anything that's in my immediate vicinity I've been making them for about a week now usually every morning and evening. It really is crazy the clean type of energy you get from doing this. Quite amazing. It's like my whole body and mind wake up from this slumber and I can just feel it coursing through me. Hard to put my finger on.

wow there are some very good smoothie ideas in this thread. I've been drinking smoothies for about 2 months now and I can truley say that I feel much better inside and out! I usually try to have one fruit and berry smoothie and another one with 10 grams of chlorella and 10 grams of spirulina + 4 grams of MSM REALITY 5.0

I have nothing to add, except that this thread is awesome! I'm going to have to try some of these out. Right now my smoothies usually consist of a banana, handful of frozen strawberries, 25-30 grams of whey protein (chocolate flavored), and a couple handfuls of Quaker oats. Sometimes I add peach, coconut & blueberries to the mix. “Was I a criminal? No. I was a good member of society. Only my society and the one making the laws are different.” - Owsley Stanley

sounds good bananas can help give some texture to a blended pinneapple, watermelon, ect.. Without a banana or something thicker added in, the pulp can all rise to the top leaving the liquid at the bottom

That sounds good, but doesn't it solidify in a cold smoothie? I keep my coconut oil in the refrigerator and I have to chisel off chunks of it with a fork.

Raspberry Lemon ChillerIn a blender, mix together: - A scoop of ice cubes (made with spring water of course, geeze) - A Handful of raspberries - A handful of blackberries (optional) - The juice of half a lemon, a whole one if you're feeling zesty - A splash of water to thin it enough for the blender - Sweeten with a tablespoon of frozen fruit juice concentrate or honey (maybe use liquid honey so it doesn't solidify) Personally, I don't sweeten it cuz I like it tart. Enjoy!

sounds bomb ^ . I've made very similar ones before and they were great recently i discovered that ripe papaya goes amazingly well in smoothies

ya that sounds good I might throw that in, papaya has a lot of good digestive enzymes. I think it would go well with pineapple and blueberry.
Is it ok to put melatonin in a smoothie universecannon? Or does the powder not taste good?
