DMT Fumarate solubility in boiling hot IPA Options

Hello guys,

I'm trying to clean my DMT Fumarate by washing it in boiling hot IPA (double boiler technique), I keep adding more and more IPA but it doesn't seem to dissolve much of it.
(It is dangerous to heat IPA, so be careful)

Does anyone have any quantitative info on it please?
For example, how much IPA is needed to dissolve 5g of unpure DMT Fumarate?

Thank you a lot for your help!

Well IPA is a nonpolar solvent so its not gonna dissolve a salt too well. You could wash it with IPA, and let dry, which would remove impurities.

Otherwise you will need to convert to freebase first.

I thought that DMT Fumarate is soluble in hot IPA.

Is there some other way to remove excess fumaric acid from DMT Fumarate? (I have no acetone).

I think I'll just convert it to freebase as you suggest using sodium carbonate, it should also remove excess fumaric acid.

Thank you Smile

what? isopropanol is a polar solvent, polar protic too actually. Its an alcohol.

You should be able to precipitate DMT fumarates by dissolving them in boiling IPA and cooling.
