Enthusiatic Chemist, looking to expand the knowledge of The Nexus Options

Hello all,

I recently attended a Psychedelics Research conference in Amsterdam hosted by Stichtung open. I found it fascinating and one of the talks led me back here to The Nexus. I am an experienced chemist, specialising in the chemistry-biology interface. I take an active interest in psychedelics from all points of view. I am keen to learn from The Nexus, as well as to help develop existing information and discover new.

I met an interesting bloke who spoke at the conference who spoke of TLConscious and I mentioned that I am keen to help develop this venture in the UK. If you know of this project that aims to spread basic chemical analysis knowledge and supply TLC kits, then please get in touch!

I do not just appreciate the wonder of the chemicals that are spoken of within these forums from the scientists viewpoint, but also from that of someone who has been scuplted by experiences with them and who has spent a significant portion of their life exploring them.

The exploration continues on all fronts!

Peace to all, keep up the good work.

T

Welcome indeed!

Regarding chemistry, there is a topic that's bubbling with interest now--which might not be obvious in a casual inspection of the forum: extraction of psilocybin from mushrooms. Here is a useful thread.

A related interest is conversion of the psilocybin molecule into freebase form.

Your input and research on those issues would be welcome...

Hello TomWhoMe,

Welcome to the Nexus. I believe as an employed scientist you will find many compatriots here. As you can see, a huge amount of work and research has gone into making this place what it is over a period of years by dedicated folks from all areas of life. I suspect you will really love it here. Very happy

I was unclear from your introduction essay if you had tried psychedelics or if you were just on the research end of things looking at the chemistry? Have you had actual experiences? If so, have you tried DMT yet? What did you think?

Again, welcome to the Nexus.
