First smoking steps, how can I reduce harsh? Options

Hi nexians!

Finally I made it and I have some DMT to smoke. I did my first attempt with a friend, and we took two doses each. My friend first try was not successful, but his second attempt took him to the DMT universe. In my first attempt, the smoke was really harsh, and maybe due to the dose (too small amount), or due to I didn't reach the accurate temperature to vaporize it, it made me nothing. On my second attemp, maybe I overheated the dmt, and it was the most f*cking harsh thing that I ever smoked in my whole life. I was unable to hold the smoke and I started coughing. My lungs and throat hurted for a long time (near 24h), and I had also pins and needles in my tongue. The strange thing is that it was harsher when I smoked it using a bong, than when I smoked it directly from the pipe.

Is this normal? How can I reduce harsh?

We used one eagle bill pipe, but I think I will use for the next time my Arizer Extreme Q to set it at the right temperature (by the way, which is the perfect temperature? I've read different temperatures, some said 80ºC and some 160ºC).

Cheers!

Buy a glass vapor genie. It's very smooth. Also make sure you don't have residual base in your spice.

Hi,
I fully agree wit "cyantific".
If you have a "harsh smoke", then you are most probably burning your DMT.
The only way how NOT to get harsh smoke was to get a GVG (https://www.dmt-nexus.me/forum/default.aspx?g=posts&t=8730). With GVG, vaporized DMT has literally NO taste/smell.

Temperature, technique and tools are the keys
