Hmmm....spice ON TOP of GVG ceramic? Options

About to try my new GVG...anyone else vouch for this method? Or Should I try the copper scrubber?
In the province of the mind what one believes to be true, either is true or becomes true within certain limits. These limits are to be found experimentally and experientially. When so found these limits turn out to be further beliefs to be transcended. In the province of the mind there are no limits. However, in the province of the body there are definite limits not to be transcended.-J.C. Lilly

This method I believe has yet to prove it's efficiency in the long run, when it comes to keeping the ceramic in optimal condition.

And in general I see no way it would beat the good ol chore boy method. (more heat, less detail control)

Just get some copper scrubber and press it (but not too much) into 3-6mm thick disc the size of your bowl, so there's about 0,5-1mm space to the glass walls. And make sure you pour the DMT in the very middle of it, cone is a good tool. Otherwise it will stick to the glass walls.

IMO on top of the ceramic is the way to go.

No worries about the right thickness of disk or distance to the glass walls. It's no issue if its not in the center either Pleased @ tele.

It just works. Obviously you don't want to ignite the spice. But this would be hard to do accidentally. Just don't let the flame hit within the first few seconds and it will melt nicely into the ceramic. After that it's just heat and thick white elf's breath.

You can even pre-melt into ceramic if that is convenient. IMO, this is easier and more repeatable results than melting into copper disks. The only drawback is there is only one ceramic piece - unless you go with the health stone vaporizer and get extra ceramic stones.

As for the long term cleanliness of the ceramic - I've not enough data points. But it seems unlikely a few dozen mgs of white spice would build up much that wouldn't burn off with a bit of direct torch flame.

Peace.

As a half measure, I tried an alternate method that is similar to putting the spice on top of the ceramic filter. I've only been taking very small doses to enhance cannabis lately. It's been a long time since I've done even a moderately large dose. I had to take a break for a year or so. I'm not going for a dmt trip. Just making cannabis a bit trippy. I had some cannabis in the gvg, a nice indica dominant strain, that my friend calls mind eraser. We don't really know what the strain is, but it is an apt name for it.
Anyway, I had some brown gunk left over from a re-x, the consistency of clay. I took a small piece of it, about the size of half a b.b. and wiped it on the bottom of the filter. Quick, complete vaporization was achieved with a torch lighter. I backed the flame off a bit and kept drawing to vaporizer some cannabis. I held my breath and hit it again and got a hit of what tasted more like cannabis, but still had a hint of vaporized dmt. Very flowery. No burning. Some of it must have dripped onto the cannabis. I got little more than I bargained for. A nice, mild tryptamine rush with creeping and crawling CEv's. Not too much light in them. A little dim, but still really nice.
Afterwards, I lifter the filter out and there was a tiny discolored spot. The spot disappeared after 2 more hits of cannabis.
I'm still not ready to put spice on the top of the filter. The gvg liquid pad and copper disc work perfectly for me. I followed Gibran2's instructions and I've never even had the smallest of drips. For people who can't get the coper disc right, this might work, but I have a feeling it will eventually effect the efficiency of the filter and lead to bad tastes. At least we now know that wiping clay like goo on the bottom of the filter works to some degree, as long as there is something for it to drip on to.

Well, I did lots of experiments with the Health Stone Glass Handvape lately, both with spice and BHO.

It's really a great portable device for cannabis hash and oil, but ANY one who tried it for spice had to cough his lungs out.
The trick is to keep the flame high enough so the DMT still vaporizes instead of burning. This is difficult to do for a "newbie" as they don't see vapor immediately, one has to apply heat from far for a few seconds before actually seeing vapor. Also it depends how full your lighter is, so the temperature on top of the stone is usually completely unstable.

But to me and everyone who tried it with spice, the GVG still is the best spice/changa vaporizer bar none.
It's too easy to burn the spice on the stone, and too difficult NOT to launch successfully with the GVG+mesh.

GVG + copper pad still wins hands down !!!
It just works every single time and is so smooth it's always a surprise when the spice kicks in Smile
