So there is a discussion on what to do with "USED" naphtha. I've read some people just trash it and some people don't.
I want to show and argue why I didn't and why you shouldn't. Simply put there is STILL Leftover spice in the naphtha.
So what to do?
Well, After you freeze all your glass's for the 12 hours using the fresh naphtha, and your ready to dump the naphtha out.
MATERIALS:1 Coffee Filter
1 Quart Mason Jar
1 Mason Jar ring (or rubber band)
Jars To Be Dumped!
STEP 1) Take your coffee filter and push it into the Jar so that about a half inch is left hanging out of the jar and it creates a bowl to catch and drain the naphtha(enough so when you secure the ring it grabs the paper and secures the paper from falling)
STEP 2) Secure the filter to the jar with the ring.
STEP 3) Pour the used used naphtha from the jars used to extract from, through the coffee filter and into the mason jar.
STEP 4) Unscrew the ring and flatten the filter on the jar on on a table top to scrap up whatever spice was collected on the filter (Some dry the filter but after the scrap and drying it appears I got it all anyways with out waiting to dry)Toss the spice into one of the extracted jars with the crystals sticking to it to further dry out the spice with your preferred method.)
STEP 5) Cap Jar and stick in freezer.
STEP 6) Wait 24 hours and repeat step 1-4 until there is nothing left to collect (at least 2 times re-filter and freezing)
STEP 7) Marvel at what you would of thrown away but didn't!
OPTIONALReading a post by Nile....
After you get done with all the refreeze-precipitate , to get the most out of your naphtha
dump the yellowish naphtha in a large pyrex baking dish and evap all the naphtha all to get whatever actives are left behind.
I hope this helps someone.
