First off I want to say cannabis tinctures have been used cross-culturally for medicinal effects for a long time, no voodoo involved. *Little background I medicate for mental ailments not so much physiological ones.*

There are many factors that play into people's experiences with edible preparations of cannabis. Some have a hard time getting much use out of them and perhaps give up before finding treasure. One being proper preparation of the extract. Another is some people's body chemistry seems to rapidly 'filter' away the actives(due to enzymes, stomach bile, etc).

My first few preparations were not incredibly successful. I had either done the decarboxylation wrong, or heated the pan too hot(with cooking oil/butter infusions). It's easy to learn to do these things properly with a small amount of research and practice. After getting it right, I found edible dose-ages hard to calculate because of how much the onset varied(could be a few hours on a full stomach) while wondering if it was made properly and it's potency. So re-dosing could lead to 'over-doses'(which are great! if you don't have anything else to do) or dosing required planning in advance for the day. I had dabbled with a tincture perhaps once every two years or something and it never really resonated. Used it for wisdom teeth surgery with a bit of clove added for local anesthetic, etc.

A door was opened with proper sublingual administration. When I made ethanol tinctures in the past I'd unload a dropper on my tongue then swallow it, or mix it with something to drink and gulp it down. These will both still work, but under the tongue is a different and refreshingly smooth story.

The onset is quick(15-20 min), re-dosing is simple and can be titrated appropriately through out the day, duration is satisfactory, the effects are more 'grounding', it can be easily made, dosed discretely, diluted or concentrated to ones liking, can be cooked into food/candies easily, stored easily, etc. Most importantly because I am incredibly sensitive to cannabis I can hit the sweet-spot between base-line and stoned to maintain proper functionality.

Basically what I'm saying is, if it's an option and you feel your cannabis regiment could perhaps use some tweaking to suit you better, and you haven't tried it already, give tincture a shot.

I've always loved the idea of tinctures, never tried it myself though. The discrete and effectiveness seem awesome, I hope you get them goingVery happy
