Im getting 12 lbs of cacti and before I do I would like to know the alkaloid content in that amount. Can anybody help me and if so please reply.

With that amount of cactus, Im guessing you're talking of a Trichocereus species (Pachoni/Peruvianus/Bridgesii).Do you know which species you're hoping to receive? I am paranoid of my brain. It thinks all the time, even when I'm asleep. My thoughts assail me. Murderous lechers they are. Thought is the assassin of thought. Like a man stabbing himself with one hand while the other hand tries to stop the blade. Like an explosion that destroys the detonator. I am paranoid of my brain. It makes me unsettled and ill at ease. Makes me chase my tail, freezes my eyes and shuts me down. Watches me. Eats my head. It destroys me.

1.) Alkaloid content can vary a fair amount with Echinopsis peruviana2.) If you want to get a ballpark range, you need to give more information. Is this a 12 lbs cutting? Or are you talking 12 lbs dry weight? 3.) Using a thread title like "I need help!" makes the thread useful only to you. If you were to title the thread "Alkaloid content of peruvian torch?", then someone else looking for this information in a few weeks would know to this thread and see what answers you got. 4.) If you Google 'peruvian torch alkaloid content', the first result is this erowid page that basically answers your question.

I am by no means an expert but from available information I've been ingesting your yield should be at least .75% by dry weight. I've heard of better for sure but I tend to expect the worst when doing these things for the first time.

So your saying two doses from only 12 pounds of fresh cacti.with that amount of cacti a whole group could probably trip, if I'm mistaken please correct me.

I once got 2g mesc from 7kg fresh, which is 15 pounds. That was T. pachanoi, though.
It HIGHLY depends on cutting/genetics (and growth conditions too I guess).
Im dont know if there is an extended work on cactus growth conditions vs alkaloid content as there with phalaris, neither if there are known high-alkaloid cutting vendors out there.

infinteworkshop wrote:Thanks dg lmao your clever, the cactus is 32 years old , just thought you guys should know no, i'm a smartass, sorry bout that. age of cactus doesn't seem to matter, small seedling have been shown to have similar alkaloids as their parents... typically one linear foot fresh of cacti per person (uber vague i know, thats because alkaloid concentrations vary wildly)
