made my first changa, & it got me to thinking... Options

having successfully recovered most of a stolen stash, i figured a little experimentation was in order... since i had a package full of fresh herbs that i meant to experiment with anyway, i spent last night making a bit of this changa everybody seems to think so highly of...

3g b. caapi leaf
1.5g mullein
2g damiana

these were infused with 8 g of ze spice &

1g blue lotus petals

was added to the dried mix. i imagine i'll add a little reefer to it (i'm not gonna lie & say it's the main reason i smoke it, but i do enjoy the taste of a good sativa) & have a go later this evening... i'm a creature of the dark by nature Twisted Evil ...

while i was making my blend, i got to thinking... i spent a pretty fair amount of time extracting this molecule from a plant so i could use it... now, before i use it, i'm spending a fair amount of effort into migrating it BACK into plant matter... something about this seems extremely inefficient, totally unnecessary, and just exactly perfect... a full circle sort of process... i think i'll meditate on circles for a while before smoking, and see where that leads me... looking forward to it...

& thank you in general to the nexus, for introducing me to this method of delivery... i've found just smoking freebase to be very unsatisfactory... after 25 years of a 2 pack habit, my lungs just don't pull hard enough to make my Vapor Genie work well... a 6-10 second toke is murder... & joints/bowls are all right, but the reefer cost can get a little out of hand if you want to invite a few friends along... if this changa works as well as i feel it will, you can call me a convert...

Instead of making a big batch of one blend why not make smaller batches of different blends? Just an idea, hope you enjoy it!

for sure gonna experiment with some other blends... having a "meeting of the minds" next weekend for my birthday... want to be uber prepared, it's my 40th so most of the people who are real important will be in attendance, & a good time shall be had by all, guaranteed... we've spent a good bit of time over the last couple weeks turning a friend's spare bedroom into a magical chamber capable of hosting a pretty spectacular group event... wish i could send y'all some invites, but you know how that ball bounces...

This isn't bad reasoning...

I made some pretty horrible batches when I first started making changa. Having a variety is pretty nice too. A different flavor for different moods.

As far as extracting it and then reinfusing it... I can see what you're saying but smoking root bark isn't pleasant and it's not concentrated enough to give any real effects.

The difference lies in that even though you're infusing it back to leaf, it's so freaking concentrated that it doesn't matter. Think of it as the difference between smoking bunk weed leaves (they have some THC but not very concentrated) and smoking an awesome nugget of primo weed or hash (really concentrated THC).

Also, just using plain caapi leaves won't really give you enough harmalas for it to really qualify as changa. You need to soak them in ethanol for at least 2 weeks but preferably a month, filter those and evap the alcohol onto some fresh leaves. The ratio for 10x (some call it 11x) caapi is take 10g of leaves, soak them, strain them and evap that menstrum (the liquid) and evap it onto 1g of fresh leaves. Once it's evapped, that 1g of fresh leaf will be as powerful as the 10g of soaked leaves. There is lots of info on this in the changa forums...

Another alternative is to use extracted harmalas. If you click on the easy guide to changa link in my sig, that's a pretty strait forward process.

I'm a long time smoker too and the best herb I've found to sooth the lungs is mullein with a little bit of mint. I'll use this to open up the airways and then I can enjoy the blends that have more herbs a lot more because it doesn't seem quite as harsh.

Happy 40th B-Day! I hope you and your friends have a blast. Pleased

i'm real interested in trying some of the 10x caapi... got a batch of leaves soaking right now, i'm a multi-tasking fool... in fact, i've had to stop reading any new info for a minute, got more projects going on than i know what to do with... but i'm not, by any stretch, bored... I've been down in the dumps about psychedelics since Pickard & Apperson went away on their vacations... it's nice to discover new worlds to explore, to be excited about the possibilities of mind...

to make 10x caapi : boil 27g of leafs , then reduce and evaporate on another 3g of fresh leafs and thats it. you will end up with 3g of 10x caapi leafs

all done in one day instead of 30.

ps: im curious how you managed to recover your spice , you are lucky Pleased

food for thought.....think of the process as an alchemical transfer of energy. also how does this transfer relate to circles?

i guess cause you get the plant, extract the spice out of it, and then imbue it back into plant form

Man, I know this completely, my garage and kitchen look like a mad (but earthy) scientist lab.

No you don't, you end up with some 9g of 3x caapi leaves.
27g of leaves extracted in water don't weigh 0g, but should be around 5-6g.
It's simply physically impossible to make 10x caapi leaves.
This myth has to stop, this is disinformation. Nothing personal though Pleased

In order to concentrate harmaloids for some 10x, the only way is to make a caapi/rue extraction and evap the freebase on caapi leaves using (m)ethanol. But then, why use caapi leaves at all ?

I really don't get that 10x thing, TBH... 10 times what ? Alkaloids ? Plant fats ? Very happy
250mg freebase harmalas for 1000mg of freebase DMT ? Now that makes more sense.
