Tropane's S i m p l e extraction Options

Here's an extraction Tropane found his buddy SWIM got quite good results from.

I HAD TO EDIT THIS.
I cannot remember for the life of me how much lye was used.
I'm guessing 300-400grams now.
Originally I thought it may have been 500-600 but, there's no way.
SWIM's lye came in 900 gram bags and it's around half full still.

MATERIALS:

3.78 liter glass jar.....[ Was a pickle jar ]
Pyrex dish..............[ Name says it all ..]
Foil....................[ To make a lid ..]
Lye ~ 300-400 grams......[ Name says it all ..] -> I can't remember EXACTLY how much I used Sad
1lb (454 grams) MHRB....[ powdered ]
Naptha, ~900ml..........[ VM&P brand, evap tested before using, evaporates clean]
Water, 3.3 liters.......[ H20 MAN!!! ]

BASIFYING THE WATER:

SWIM first mixed 400 (max) grams of lye with about 3.3 liters of water.
SWIM knows this is ALOT of lye BUT there's a point... Though 300-400g may be overkill Smile.
SWIM was told this makes emulsions virutally non-existent, this IS TRUE.

ADDING THE MHRB:

After the mix cooled down (lye & water put off good heat do they not),
454 grams of powdered MHRB was added.
SWIM will admit, this form quite a THICK solution.

The jar was shaken very rapidly for about 60 seconds followed by about
2 minutes of stirring with a plastic rod.

SWIM did have about 5 or 6 marble size clumps of MHRB that had to be removed, they would not disolve.

ADDING THE NAPTHA:

After letting it sit for about 30 minutes, swim added about 200 ml of naptha.
The jar was then sealed and shaken for about 2 minutes.

With such a thick solution, the jar required sitting time for the naptha to raise to the surface.

FIRST NAPTHA PULL AND FREEZE PRECIPITATION:

SWIM then used a measuring cup to scoop off the naptha.
This was all dumped into a glass pyrex dish (about 8x4 inches).

SWIM added 200ml of naptha into the jar again.

The dish was then covered in foil the avoid evaporation.
This was placed in the freezer for a little over an hour.

REMAINING FREEZE PRECIPS:

The dish was pulled out from the freezer and the naptha was poured off into a holding container.

After drying out the crystals with a fan & scraping then up, swim was left with ~1200mg of DMT.

SWIM then took the naptha from the jar and placed it in the freezer the same way as before.

The naptha from the "holding container" was then dumped back into the jar.
SWIM finds using 2 batches of 200ml of naptha to be a very good way of conserving naptha and time.

SWIM repeated this freeze/dump/dry/refreeze process 6 times so far.

CURRENT RESULTS:

SWIM currently has gathered what he thinks looks like ~5.5 grams of nearly pure white DMT crystals.

Smile

NOTES:

Mind you, each freeze-precip only took an hour!
However, SWIMS freezer is on it's coldest setting and seems
to freeze stuff alot quicker/colder than some other freezers do...

SWIM finds pouring off the naptha VS filtering it to be much easier.

SWIM plans to extract until absolutely no more crystals form, then he'll use a xylene/toluene mix he has
to pull out the "Jungle DMT" in a similar manner.

SWIM HOPES (according to current yield and the look of his naptha solution)
that he may pull at least 6-7 grams of pure DMT using the above methods.

I'll post the final results after SWIM is finished.
SWIM tells me all DMT amounts are eyeballed.
He supposes he couldn't be off by more than 10% though..
He's gonna let me know the final weight once his more precise scale arrives.

looks like a solid extraction..just a few pointers....lye etches glass..which means if you bump it the wrong way..you will get lots of lye water bark EVERYWHERE...it will burn your skin if it touches you for too long(a few seconds) have vinegar handy to neutralize any spills..and do it in a safe place

second...when i saw that you had FOIL as one of your materials for a lid..i was like NO WAY...keep lye away from foil..it reacts with it..but i see you used it for the naptha..
it's a sound

lol ya. am very careful with the jar & it's thick glass. Ya, surely keep the lye away from foil... I use to make lil bombs that way lol.

Is there a base you can use that doesn't etch class? Would sodium carbonate suffice? And if lye is needed, what is a good product that is pure lye. Prefferably home depot or ACE. All the lye products SWIM looks at don't list the content by percentage.

Available at every Ace Hardware store that SWIM has been to in his area ($3.89/bottle - 1lb).
