Ipomoea Tricolor Options

Hi all,

Today I decided to plant some Morning Glory seeds, or Ipomoea Tricolor aka Heavely Blue. I am using a soil mix meant for sowing and cuttings.
NPK is 14-16-18.
pH is 5.0-6.5

Once the sprout I will have to transplant them. What sort of soil do these plants prefer? The intention is to put them in my greenhouse for the summer.

Thanks you for any advice!

Not sure if it still relevant. I planted different ipomea species across my allot. I pre-growed them in standard potting soil and they all became large and flowered in full ground in the same year as they were grown from seed. Lots of seeds have been harvested. Make sure you do your harvest in time so that they don't fall on the ground. The heavenly blue species was active, not sure about the dark purple ones (larger flowers) I had, I could not find information about their LSA or other compounds content.
You could make something to they can attach to as they are climbers or plant them near a fence.

Ipomea tricolor isn't hard to grow from seeds to fruit (flowering and later takingthe seeds)
I used basic soil, neutral pH and some natural fertilizer.
About to grow more cause it loves climbing around the place, outside all summer. Spring indoor.
really make it simple but make sure to give it something big enough to climb on they climb easily one meter in a few days or weeks.
Smell like tea n,n spirit !

Toke the toke, and walk the walk !

It can fix N and likes drier well drained soil.
It is often quite drought resistant too.

I've grown them for years. I love the flowers.
