Gotye is nice, I heard that he records all the instruments by himself If the brain were so simple we could understand it, we would be so simple we couldn't.

This is pretty sweet, like the lyrics to the songs. "You are an explorer, and you represent our species, and the greatest good you can do is to bring back a new idea, because our world is endangered by the absence of good ideas. Our world is in crisis because of the absence of consciousness." — Terence McKenna

Thank you, Antrocles, cool discovery. Nice video, and music with personality. Reminds me of early Björk "The Menu is Not The Meal." - Alan Watts

ya...i was really quite blown away that i had never heard of this guy before. i was truly floored the way i was when i first heard radiohead or bjork.....such a profound sense of artistry behind it all....from the great music to the great lyrics to the great videos. it's so inspiring to me to watch a true artist that has reached a point where they can simply manifest what is in them. bjork got to that point and had michel gondry making those super cool videos of hers... and to hear that he writes ALL the music for ALL the instruments himself is, well, more affirmation that this is an artist that is genuinely living his gift. and it becomes a gift for us all! LOVELOVELOVELOVELOVE.... ...and gratitude! "Rise above the illusion of time and you will have tomorrow's wisdom today."

look at you guys with all your gotye knowledge.... yeah...the first vid i saw was the 'somebody i used to know' vid and i was blown straight off the cliff. then i watched 'heart's a mess' and that sealed the deal. genius. artistic genius. i was having visions of radiohead (the whole band) and beck having some kind of love child with bjork and letting michel gondry be it's step father for the first dozen years or so. i can't tell you how much it moves me to see people FULLY express themselves artistically like this. gives me hope in humanity to be quite frank.. L&G! "Rise above the illusion of time and you will have tomorrow's wisdom today."

I remember the first time I went to Thailand, the end of a great week (my first time scuba diving, first time mushrooms, LSD) - it was one day before I was due to fly home. There was a beach bar that was part of the dive centre, and I ordered a juice. Sitting there watching over the water and beach in front of me, I had my headphones and was listening to Gotye, incidentally, Hearts a Mess. I was in another world when my drink arrived with tears in my eyes. I am a piece of knowledge-retaining computer code imitating an imaginary organic being.

Saw Gotye live a few nights ago, it was absolutely spectacular. He had some amazing animations playing behind each song, and to my complete delight, they're on youtube. I found this one particularly incredible, it remindeds me a lot of something from Pink Floyd: The Wall and The Black Paintings by Francisco De Goya. This one is also superb: These are probably my favourite two songs on the album. He's an amazing artist live, flawless in his musical performance and an incredible and moving singer. Enjoy!
