interesting movie, fairly gritty. No doubt one of the better flicks depicting the Vietnam Conflict.

Absolutely my favorite film.


I have kind of a weird preference for how I watch it: Though I prefer the theatrical version overall, with the "complete dossier" I watch the theatrical version of the first act, followed by the redux's second act. If I ever get a blu-ray device, I'm kind of itching to get the "full disclosure edition".

This is one of the few cases of a film adaptation surpassing the book (heart of darkness), though the film had a distinct advantage by setting it in the Vietnam war. But still, the book is excellent:
