So i am sure that many have experienced this on the nexus. Have you ever found yourself caught, in a life threatening situation where everything slows down.

I am just curious i am sure that time doesn't really slow down, but how does our brain perceive this to be happening.

Yesterday on a commute to CA, we where about an hr into driving, and all of a sudden to our right, we believe what happened was this guy had fallen asleep and woken up and freaked, because this guy was driving perfectly fine in his own lane, with no one around him.

Before we knew it, he was hitting his breaks, sliding left and right trying to gain control, then he lost it completely, slid from the right side of the 5 lane freeway, all the way across, as he slid in front of us i remember everything was very slow, and my driver basically turned us right and we got out. And so after he slid across us, it seemed as soon as he slammed into the wall everything came back into action, we slipped out and other were slamming into others, and i guess all i can really say, is i am so thankful that we got out of that, when it had happened it was so surreal, and just so terrifying at the same time, when it happened me and my driver both said, that the way we slipped out, was almost as if we were picked up and pushed over, and pushed along, as cars are crashing and glass is flying, My prayer went to those victims and i really hope that everyone walked out ok.

Another short example was, back in august i was hit by a truck in the cross walk, and i remember this truck, accelerating towards me, without that feeling of time and reality slowing down, i don't know if i would of reacted fast enough.

this has happened to me. I think it's due to adrenaline.

I've been in fights/tense situations, and time has slowed down before.

When I was fighting it was like neo in the matrix, time just SLOOOOOOWED DOWN to the point of almost stopping and I was able to handle everything this guy threw at me. He ended up trying to kick me and I grabbed his foot in mid swing and ended up tossing him. After that he stopped and I helped him up. Very surreal.

This is shit-brained, this kind of thinking.
Grow a plant or something and meditate on that

Who knows, maybe it does? Time isn't absolute.

I've had similar things happen but I can't explain them.

If you have some time, check out the episode of "Through the wormhole" called "Does time exist?

Lol

I C well i had never considered it could be adrenaline, it is a very good point, i could say almost getting killed by truck on foot, some serious adrenaline, during the scene on the through way, i was surley shooken up, but idk how much my adrenaline was up, but my driver, she told me she was completely calm, she had seen this car, and said to herself he was gonna crash, and she handled it very well, and she had claimed to me she was very calm, she had also seen the car slide by and said she felt the slowing down. And i guess the reason it such a big deal to me is b/c i have never whiteness-ed an accident, let alone see one on front of my face, and be in the middle of it.

All i can say is seeing that person slide in front of me, it all felt fake, until he slammed into the wall, and then get T-boned by another. The scene was terrifying, i mean i am sure there have been worse, but cars were braking and spinning beside us hitting other. I just feel so blessed to have gotten out.

I was passenger in a pretty serious car accident before, and time definitely seemed to slow down for a few seconds. We got rear ended by someone who didn't realize traffic was slowing down. They were in a van 3x the weight of our car and going probably 3x the speed. We were hit, and the car popped up, and spun around 360 (not all in the air!) across about 3 lanes. This felt like maybe 1 whole minute when in reality it was probably 5 seconds. The whole time I was waiting to die or get seriously injured, just waiting for someone to come crashing into the side of car. Thankfully that didn't happen! Everyone else saw it coming because everybody else was slowing down with the rest of the traffic!
