That is one I've heard too. She was schizophrenic and she was forced to take it by the doctors, no wonder she had problems. With google you might find some info. I think it was from the 50's-70's the experiment, where they tried DMT as a cure for mental patients.

Good subject this thread! I also wondered what DMT did with heart rates as I once had a weird experience with a fast heart rate after smoking a DMT joint(very potent MJ too so it could have been that). Though I also find that my heart(or rather it's "electric center" can feel strange during meditation (especially on higher dosages of MJ) and it's actually not a change in heart rate when I check my pulse.

Cannabis drops your blood pressure and is vasodilating. Some people are sensitive to this and it can cause an increase in heart rate if you are anxious about it. Relaxation can go a long way! Try Mapacho or caapi changa instead of cannabis if this sensation bothers you.

Thanks for the info and tips! Good thing I am familiar with relaxation trough meditation ^_^. I was already planning on making some MJ changa for a while now, definately going to try it soon.

I have experienced crazy heart rate on one occasion, but I'm pretty sure this was a psychosomatic outburst of a frightening episode I had on the trip. When I pulled myself together and tried to relax, so did the heart.
