If the occupy movement wants to succeed. Options

Several posts have been made here about the occupy movement. I think most of us sympathise with this movement to some degree. Yet some of us, including me, are sceptical about it´s chances of succeeding.

If people want this movement to be succesfull, here are some sugestions.

-The movement is too small yet to make any difference. Therefore the movement needs to grow. It needs to grow in people who actively contribute and partake in the protests, but most importantly in supporters.
In other words: public opinion needs to change.
-If you want public opinion to change, you need to aproach this as if it´s an election campain.
But not a normal campain that only lasts for 500 days or so. This should be an ongoing campain that maybe needs to go on for several years. True change could take much more than a decade.
-The public has been brainwashed with lies that have been repeated over and over again. You don´t erase those lies, nor the sentiment spawn from them, simply by exposing them. The lies have been repeated, so the exposure needs to be repeated...over and over and over.
-'Read my lips, no more taxes' repeated over and over, made george herbert bush win one election..
-'Read my lips, no more taxes' repeated over and over, made him lose the next one.
-Follow the enemy (not as in: physically stalking them, ofcourse) for 24/7, like they do in election campains. Make sure you know about every single lie they tell, every secret love affair, how they vote in the senate, where they get their money from, etc.
-Know your facts and always tell the truth. One lie from the side of the occupy movement can do more damage then tenthousand lies from the other side.
-Don´t play nice. The enemy is not the type that plays nice either. Be at least as mean as a truthfull micheal moore would be. Stay truthfull, but don´t show any mercy...ever. If you know about a secret love affair that would ruin a congesman´s marriage...spread the word. The enemy knows no mercy and needs to be dealth with accordingly.
-Keep hammering. Never let go.
-Don´t be afraid to form political alliances. The teaparty clearly is aligned with the republican party in some way. Aligning with a political party is dangerous, because they can hijack your organisation and take advantage of you...yet, you´re not gonna get anything done without eventually a liberal in the white house and without liberals in the senate and congres. Seek aliance with the right politicians but don´t be afraid to break those alliances either. Always keep the pressure on.
-spread the word through all media available. Viral advertising can be cheap and very effctive. Make nice video´s that will be seen on youtube, etc.
-Take advantage of the insights of political marketeers and neuromarketing. It´s not the nicest way to communicate a message, but the enemy uses all those brainwashing techniques as well so you don´t stand a chance against them if you don´t use that same weapon..even if it where alone to de-program people, to erase the indoctrinated propaganda.
-You will be infiltrated. Be aware of that. Take precautions.
-Be patient.

Personally I think they only hope is to NOT form political alliances.

The Tea Party is about to be completely done in the next elections because they did so. (fingers crossed on that statement) Not only that but by forming an alliance with one of the parties you immediately push away 50% of the populations. Bad idea. I believed in the Tea Party when they first arose, but today they are nothing but a disgrace to this country... precisely because they formed an alliance with the republican party. I say stay completely separate from politics and force the politicians to come to you. When people scream, and protest loud enough politicians do start to listen...especially when there is enough of them.

Other than that I pretty much agree. Though you have to admit it is ALREADY having an impact. It's making the nightly news. It's in people's minds and thoughts. This is the beginning of the process. Only time will tell if the people of the world have the resolve that it takes to level the playing field.

Alliances are a huge risk. But in the end, if you realy want to have an impact, you need allies within the representative organs of a nation.
That´s not very realistic yet. But the goal is to change laws, policy´s etc.

You need people to do that for you, unless you want to start a political party yourself.

The whole thing is just to pull their strings instead of letting them pull yours.

im waiting for each state/province/city to have a representative and then the larger area that it is in to have a 'leader/voting body' and then for the whole movement to connect globally and have many represenatives/leaders/more structure, by this point there will be more than enough power and influence to change the world, then ill wait for this entire collective to have a single leader which will come as many peoples 'savior'

then i will watch many be deceived =] bwhahaha!

I think joedirt is right about this. Political alliances will only limit the movement to certain political views and agendas. This could alienate those who don't agree with or trust the political groups the movement is alining with.

I don't feel these are the goals at all. I think at the core of the movement is a need for overall social change. Politics from all parties stands in the way of this.

Our society is antiquated. We are moving into a future society where technology will completely change how our society works. This is just a change IMHO from one society to another much like the transition from imperial to democratic in history.

How will we continue our technological advancements when we deplete the world of its resources (there are many things other than oil that we are running out of more quickly, things required in just as many objects and utilities in our daily lives as oil)?

Technology is unlimited in its capabilities, but limited in its rate of progression.
Do not listen to anything, "Steely" says. He is a made up character that his owner likes to role play with. His owner is very delusional and everything he says is completely untrue and ridiculous.
