Has anyone heard of acacia seeds being used in a simmilar way to cebil or yopo - kinda makes sense, perhaps a good direction for more research ? antrocles wrote:...purity of intent....purity of execution....purity of experience...

yes, but only the info on wiki. i think there were several mentions of species that had traces of dmt and other alkaloids in the seeds. some acacias are enormous with heaps of seedpods. i like the idea of extracting from prunings/litter rather than bark. but where to start? geographical location, species, vendor??

hrmm - i can test the seeds of many of the strains here but i have no way to analyze the final product other than vaping (haha - dangerous!) and growing it into xtals. antrocles wrote:...purity of intent....purity of execution....purity of experience...

^^Yes one should be careful concentrating alkaloids from any plant species of unknown or complex phytochemistry.
Some of these species contain things like amphetamines (not sure what kind though), nicotine, and cyanogenic glycosides.

have you narrowed it down a bit from 1000+ different acacias?

..with the amounts in the leaves of some acacia spp., there is little or no point looking in the seeds..seeds are usally high protein, not alkaloid.. giraffes eat the pinnae (small leaves) of A. giraffe and A. hematoxylon BTW...

iv personally seen giraffe eating seeds of acacia spp look at other plants like datura - where are most alkaloids found ? in the seeds - along with plenty other plants the leaves have a load of other crap in them - in most cases the leaf is not the best thing to work with as defats are more often required. antrocles wrote:...purity of intent....purity of execution....purity of experience...

(phyllodes are an extention of the bark) not wanting to pour cold water on research, just reporting what i know..there may be traces of alkaloid in acacia seeds...
