It is if you dreamt about it.

"The chief of the firefighters, Guillermo Pérez, however, said the "causes remain unknown" and that "gas containers were found intact," ruling out a gas related incident."

from..
http://blogs.discovermag...ll-of-fire-from-the-sky/

So the neighbours claim to have seen the thing(whatever it is) come from the sky..some other guy was apparently detained later for providing false evidence of some thing in the sky(video or pictures or something)..and then other sources claim it was a gas fire from a pizza oven, yet the apparent fire chief claims that the gas containers were found intact so it cant be a gas related incidence..

Who knows really. Unless we can verify that this guy really is the fire cheif, and that the origional claims of the neighbours seeing something in the sky all of this is sort of just up in the air. I dont necessarily trust the media though..does that mean it was space aliens? No. I dont know why space aliens even came up in this thread.

In the link you sent it says:

"[Update: It looks like the cause of this was a gas bottle exploding, and not a meteorite. See the update for 21:15 UT below).]"

That part of the firechief is older.

Regardless, lets indeed wait for final conclusion.

I just meant to point out that it seems sometimes people want to jump into supernatural explanations and throwing the mayan calender "card" too quick, instead of just waiting to see whats the final story, which quite often seems to be something as "silly" as a badly connected oven.

I'm focusing on the use of the word supernatural and neglecting the main topic of the thread somewhat.

Staying on the rails I can't be certain if it was a meteorite or a gas explosion, as I wasn't there.

It says in the news (in spanish) that it was a gas explosion, that the whole meteorite/something from the sky was a BS story invented by someone to take away the attention from illegal gas installation..

I guess we're gonna have to forget the supernatural explanations this time Razz

Well reguardless of if the gas explosion is the true explanation here, I don't see where you're getting supernatural explanations?

Metorites are natural occurances in the universe. Also if the proposed theories of Elenin are true about cetain recent activites, it's still not supernatural. If a big enough rock is flying through our solar system and passes earth, it's plausble it's gravitational force is going to put strain on the earth and disrupt some of the natural procecess, such as tides, affecting weather conditions, and stress on the earths crust could potentiate seismic and volcanic activity. Nothing supernatural about that explanation, just astrophysics.

I was referencing the whole 'misterious prediction' and link to hopi/mayan prophecy thread Smile

My bad, I skipped over that link, but yeah that answers my question. Wink

I'm not even necessarily saying that this is a cover-up by experts or the wealthy or anything like that. Just that the news in general might not quite understand what went down and as a result, they have this story which sort of is made to fit more into their box of expectations.
"Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind" - Albert Einstein

"The Mighty One appears, the horizon shines. Atum appears on the smell of his censing, the Sunshine- god has risen in the sky, the Mansion of the pyramidion is in joy and all its inmates are assembled, a voice calls out within the shrine, shouting reverberates around the Netherworld." - Egyptian Book of the Dead

"Man fears time, but time fears the Pyramids" - 9th century Arab proverb
