Hey all, Im going to be attempting to extract for the 1st time from mimosa hostillis, By the end off it im hoping to have some freebase DMT. Once I have this freebase DMT I intend to mix it with a changa mix, mainly caapi as thats all I have at the moment. Can anyone recommend the best way to mix the DMT with the mix? someone said something about hating them both up in some water, but I'm afraid by doing this ill burn off the DMT. any suggestions? Greazyyy

Dissolve the spice in acetone or IPA and add the plant matter. Add in enough of the solvent to make sure all of the plant matter is covered. Allow to evaporate. No heat necessary, though a fan can help. Freebase DMT isn't very soluble in water at all, so it doesn't make a good solvent for this. Edit: You may want to edit your thread title to something more informative, so that if other people have a similar question, they can easily find it. Like "Preferred solvents for changa?" or something similar. PK Dick is to LSD as HP Lovecraft is to Mushrooms

I can't express how much information and knowledge i've gained from this bloody forum! Can I use naptha as a solvent or am i on the completly frmo track here? Greazyyy

From what I understand, naptha doesn't always evaporate as cleanly as acetone or IPA so you would definitely want a fan on it, and to stir everything up several times after they look dry to get rid of any trapped/lingering fumes. PK Dick is to LSD as HP Lovecraft is to Mushrooms

I suppose naptha could work, but no one ever seems to use it. It's really not that hard to find some IPA if nothing else though at any drug store or even some corner stores. If you don't have to evaporate naptha though, you probably don't wanna. "Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind" - Albert Einstein

the thing that gets to me a little, arnt these things potentially quite harmful to our bodies?? and where soaking our mix in them meaning where going to be smoking them, or does it all evaporate? Greazyyy

In the case of acetone your body actually produces it, although I wouldn’t advise anyone to consume it deliberately. Whatever happens acetone, IPA and ethanol will evaporate. Ethanol can also be used and if you want to go the food safe route this is your best bet. You can get (albeit very expensive, due to UK alcohol taxation) ethanol that is suitable for consumption in the UK from Polish shops or on the internet, look out for Spirytus Rektyfikowany.

I just use regular ethanol, aka Everclear. It evaps pretty quickly, and smells better than those other solvents IMO. Plus which I always give a little to the changa, then a little to me! He is an adventurous fish, and I feel his exploits are worth sharing...so much so, I occasionally forget that HE is the one who does these things. Sometimes I get caught in the moment and write of his experiences in the first person; this is a mistake, for I am an upstanding citizen who never does wrong. Stimpy is the degenerate.

has anyone ever tried damiana in any off their changa mix's? Greazyyy

Don't be afraid to use the acetone. I wouldn't go the naptha route, I've heard that it can result in an uneven, gummy, or gooey finished product. besides, the acetone evaporates insanely fast, but it took me upward of 3 or 4 days to get the entirety of the acetone to evaporate out of the plant product. I'm sure damiana would work just fine. The beauty of the changa is how many options you really have. You can infuse just about anything that you would otherwise smoke, but of course many materials will have an impact on the overall experiencing of smoking it. And because of this, you also get to choose the level of spice concentration in the final product. Mine was 4 grams of spice to 5 grams of smoking blend. If you're using caapi as one ingredient, you may want to consider making a 10x concentrated caapi leaf. I just recently ordered 4 ounces of caapi leaf and will be concentrating that for another changa mix in the works. For my first changa, I used a native american smoking blend consisting primarily of mullein, blackberry leaf, and uh... A few others, I can't recall. It turned out great though! Good luck on your project. "'Tis true, without falsehood, certain and most true. That which is below is as that which is above, and that which is above is as that which is below, to accomplish the miracle of the One thing. And as all things have arisen from one by the meditation of one: so all things have their birth from this one thing by adaptation. The Sun is its father, the Moon its mother, the wind hath carried it in its belly, the earth its nurse."

Just to clarify, changa refers to an enhanced leaf blend that includes harmalas. So any blend including caapi is automatically changa, but for blends that don't, you have to add them. HI Anenergyhealer,
I usually buy a couple 50ml of acetone from Boots pharmacy. You have to ask at the counter, but it's 1.50 a bottle and does the job. I use plain caapi leaf and mint for my changa (i love the combo) and can make it over night usually. The acetone is 99% and evaps really fast. I can get 98% polish spirits from a shop near by, but i still prefer acetone from boots. Has never let me down.
A friend has used naphtha before and it left him with weird clumpy stuff that was gooey and strange. Good luck!

As most have said: Acetone. However be careful when you buy it. Often it is slightly diluted with water and this can cause you to run into problems. Pick up some epsom salts at the same time as the acetone, add a generous handful to your container and seal it again. Concentration gradients can be slow business and fast in others, it seems beyond my knowledge as to why. I add the salt at night and in the morning siphon off the acetone FROM THE TOP of the container. This acetone will be AT LEAST 99%. You cannot kill time without injuring eternity.
Find loopholes and stay safe.

thanks for the help people, I have been in boots and looked onto shelf for acrtone and it comes as nail polish remover, Main ingredient is acetone but also contains a couple others, im assuming this will not be safe to use? did you say i have to ask at the coutner at boots?? Greazyyy

I personally wouldn’t use nail polish remover. Ask at the counter for pure stuff, or alternatively have a look in the suppliers you can find good UK-based suppliers of both acetone and IPA.
