Masonic Tradition and the Spring of the Acacia Tree Options

My grandfather, with whom I was extremely close, recently passed. At his service I noticed a few themes which struck a chord deep within (having discovered DMT only a few months prior). Since that time I cannot get these themes out of my head and I hope some of you can shed light on the matter.

My grandfather was a long-time brother of the Masonic Lodge. I have always known this but it was never discussed. Being this, part of his funeral service was Masonic in nature. This was the first time I was exposed to formal Masonic tradition.

At this service the spring from within the Acacia tree was mentioned numerous times. The Acacia tree is very important to the organization. At the time I was aware of the known alkaloids of the tree and suddenly felt as though there was some long, deep connection between this organization and DMT. The Masons seek things like knowledge, Truth, God, the Light, etc. Much of the tradition, when viewed under the lens of DMT, makes much more sense.

I cannot find a single reference in common literature linking the Masonic Acacia tree to DMT. I am convinced on some level DMT is part of Masonic tradition, but cannot support this claim. Has anyone noticed this or have literature to confirm or deny the use of DMT?

EDIT: I should note that I find this interesting because if the connection between DMT and Masonic tradition is true, then we need to reconsider our connection between the US government and DMT. The US government was founded, and is maintained, by Masons. The Scottish Rite (Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry) funded Dr. Strassmans work with DMT. This is not conspiracy talk, this is fact.

Condolences for your mourn.

Interesting !

I missed the info on Strassman !

As a son of a mason perhaps you could have access to some first hand infos:
first I should keep safe and check the papers of your father and warn that nothing is stolen Wink
Then you could have privileged access to some of his masonic friends.
Be cautious: i believe these people can be very dangerous in some circumstances.

Some thoughts.
Acacia has many reference in old testament.
Acacia need a processing, an "alchemy" to be useful as entheogen.
If it were used orally it needs a working MAOI.
We know that S. Rue and Caapi are the main plant in their respective cultures, so
why acacia, that is a mere additive, would be made so important in this alleged millenary tradition ?
And why the lacking of at least some coherent reference, in their ceremonial, to this other MAOI plant ?
Acacia is a wide genus and many strains are not producing alkaloids but good wood, for example, or other medicines, or striking flowers and fragrance.

Sources for what? It's sort of accepted history. I'll quote Wikipedia for lack of time:

Wikipedia on George Washington wrote:
In 1752 Washington was initiated into Freemasonry.[171] At his inauguration in 1789, the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of New York administered his oath of office. On September 18, 1793, he laid the cornerstone of the U.S. Capitol wearing full Masonic Grand Master regalia.[172] (This ceremony was reenacted in 1993 for the Capitol's bicentennial.) Washington had a high regard for the Masonic Order and often praised it, but he seldom attended lodge meetings. He was attracted by the movement's dedication to Enlightenment principles of rationality, reason and fraternalism; the American lodges did not share the anti-clerical perspective that made the European lodges so controversial.[173]

The first chapter of Strassman's book discusses funding.

Yea, but as I'm not making claims that's not my onus. As to why...well, simply put, yes there is a history/tradition that's tied up, but people have a habit of taking that tradition and turning it into the most fantastical of narratives as to what's really going on "behind the scenes". I was merely curious as to what aspects of the Masons you were invoking in this context (especially as far as the "maintains" statement), and it appears, from your response, you mean the history-based "stuff" rather than the gobbledy gook about Ben Franklin's Alien Craft, codenamed K.I.T.E. I am also interested in these links as I do believe there is merit to them (and the less absurd MAson claims in general). I was just curious as to where you, a1pha, were coming from. I look forward to seeing if anyone has any links/info along the observations you reported.

Condolences for your grandfather...I know how tough it can be, much love.

Oh yes, I mean only to invoke history and fact. I suppose I should have made that clear in the OP given the nature of people willing to buy into fantastical claims. I simply made some observations which hit home after the DMT experience.
