I want to order a San Pedro cutting from ktbotanicals and try to root it. I've ordered from them before and its taken about a week for delivery. Will the fact that it is going to spend up to a week in the mail hurt its ability to be rooted?

Cacti are awesomely strong plants, i highly doubt it will matter.

The cutting will be fine.

Are you going to to root the hole thing or test bulk and propagate the tip? If you do decide to cut the er... cutting, be sure to let the new cut tip completely scab over (2 weeks dry place not too hot) before planting it.

Awesome, just making sure. As of now, I plan to root the whole thing. However, I was considering taking one 12" cutting, and splitting it into two 6" halves and rooting both of those. Would that be better? I think I will "harvest" some of it at a later date.

my cacti grow faster the bigger they are...Also contrary to what I used to think, they really like the shade....I live in a really hot summer climate and the cacti in the shade really thrive. They can easily grow 16 inches in a season.
