I'm done with the concept of aliens. I've done some math and it seems that if there were elephants in Egypt then building the pyramids wouldn't require much lifting. most of the alien theory rests upon alien technology. although I'm convinced they used elephants. this is devastating to my appreciation of intelligence. be it extraterrestrial or otherwise. I mean its on sand right? OK what shape would you make something if you didn't want it to collapse? A great deal of meditation is required

Did you ever see the movie 10,000 B.C.? They used mammoths in that movie, i don't know how accurate that is, but its an interesting thought. Personally I believe humans could've done it with the limited technology they had, simply using leverage. Check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRRDzFROMx0 , one man can move a full-sized barn 300ft using a piece of wood, and he is building his own stonehenge using the same method. It would take a lot of work, but if you have enough people, say all the Jewish slaves in egypt, I think it could've been done relatively easily. “Surrender is inner acceptance of what is without any reservations. It is precisely at those times that surrender needs to be practiced if you want to eliminate pain and sorrow from your life.”

I just wrote a paper about egypt a few hours ago actually. I guess when the Nile flooded, the people would take to boats and float around the houses and palm trees that way..I've heard that movie 10,000BC has about 10,000 inaccuracies in it, so who knows about wholly mammoths..too bad they had slaves..an aquatic/tropical mammoth pyramid paradise is a really nice image I assume people built the pyramids. I don't know with what technology they accomplished that feat though i just remembered this neat documentary on egypt you would probably find interesting http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rlSssnh4b7Q

I as well have started to shift my ancient astronaut perspectives. I just think we really sometimes don't give enough credit to our ancient predecessors. They probably were just as, if not more, intelligent then the common human today. Also one thing that will always surprise us about those ancient worlds is that when there is a need for something, human ingenuity typically pulls through with some off the wall solution to fulfill the need. The only thing about the pyramids at giza that still gives me hope about the ancient astronauts (or even hope for some sort of preserved sacred knowledge) is that the main pyramid also shares the exact same dimensions at the base as the Sun temple in Teotihuacan, Mexico. However, their ultimate shapes somewhat differ. -Peace, Love and Light Nothing lasts...nothing lasts...everything is changing into something else...nothing is wrong...nothing is wrong...everything is on the right track

If you want to gain hope for ancient astronauts look into the Sumerian ruins, They straight up carved a UFO looking thing and a person wearing what looks like a space-suit. Their gods are pretty much the same as Egyptians too, RA (sun god) is the same as ATEN or "Aton" (Sumerian for ENKI). “Surrender is inner acceptance of what is without any reservations. Many ancient cultures had drawings, carvings, stories, etc. about travelers from the stars. They obviously had technology, alien or not, that we cant match today. I have been watching lots of Ancient Aliens on the History channel lately and they make some pretty solid connections, and other more far fetched. But I find it all very interesting. Remember, if the women dont find you handsome.....they might as well find you handy.

A rather "new" theory is that they built it with geopolymer cement. Some people at MIT made an experiment where they built stone molds in wood and just filled it up with this geopolymer cement forming perfect blocks. This Avoids the problem of carrying a huge stone. Just carry lots of sand, water and some kind of ash I think. This would also answer to why the stone type of the pyramids can't be found in quarry's nearby (if that really is the case). I haven't looked this up to much so please take it with a grain of salt but it definitely seems like a plausible theory.

Whoa, possibly. But then again, the people who built Stonehenge brought the stones from about 240 miles away. So they were pretty crazy back then when they picked which rocks they wanted to use. “Surrender is inner acceptance of what is without any reservations. Found an article about it on the MIT homepage, I know there is a video somewhere but I couldn't find it right now. http://web.mit.edu/newso...2008/pyramid-tt0402.htmlHere's a video of some French people building a pyramid (Not a whole pyramid) using the same technique but on a larger scale. ...I want to build a pyramid to ...

Now we just have to wait a few thousand years to see if those stones they made are the same make-up of what the pyramids are today. That looks pretty promising. “Surrender is inner acceptance of what is without any reservations. If you have lived long enough, you will know that things “go wrong” quite often. I never really thought that aliens built the pyramids , but that the civilizations built them to honor them and be "closer" to them them ~ perhaps using knowledge gained by interaction with them , but I do believe they were all built by human hands for ritual use. It is fascinating that pyramids exist(ed) on most every continent. Lots of fascinating evidence to suggest ancient visitation happened , and just as many arguments against it. Thank you for sharing that video Psimon. In your first response about perhaps shaping the blocks on site...that's ingenious. I could totally see the Egyptians crafting the pyramids this way. Also by doing it this way, I'm sure it was probably somewhat easier to build those meticulous hallways and rooms that are contained within. That video is great too because they even dress like Egyptians. Gotta love the French! ~Peace, Love and Light Nothing lasts...nothing lasts...everything is changing into something else...nothing is wrong...nothing is wrong...everything is on the right track

It is know that the ancient Egyptians dug clay from the Nile, put them into rectangulair wooden molds and let them dry in the sun to Create bricks. This is what they used to build houses. So it seems very likely that they employed this same technique, except on a much larger scale to create the blocks of the great pyramids. Is the Gizeh plateau far from the Nile? PS: that youtube movie of Wally Wallington is of horribly bad quality. Here's one that is of much better quality: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsoYkGb7p28Very interresting. I was planning on building a little hidden temple myself so this comes in very handy.
