Everyone's talking about Egytian-style hallucinations got me to thinking about Kenneth Anger's "Lucifer Rising." Anyway, to the point.

If you're looking for films that mesh well with the psychedelic experience, I would recommend:

The Films of Kenneth Anger

The Films of Alejandro Jodorowsky (esp. El Topo and The Holy Moutain)

Invasion of the Thunderbolt Pagoda

Some notable classics:

Apocalypse Now (The script was originally entitled, "The Psychedelic Soldier" )

2001: A Space Odyssey

that space odyssey movie is cool indeed. I also loved natural born killers, wich is both hilarious and trippy. Also aplies to many Terry Giliam films like fear and loathing in las vegas and the munchhausen film.
Must say, it's not always a good idea watching movies before tripping. Once watched arachnofobia before taking acid and saw giant spiders everywhere that night.

A long time ago zubidlo attended a film festival. There was presentation of 3 Anger's movies in a row. Zubidlo watched that stoned. Zubidlo remembers that festival because of 'Ten Minutes Older: The Trumpet' premiere. It was hardest presentation to get tickets to. Zubidlo didn't have 'press ID', so had to sit on stairs whole movie. Great movie. Short stories shot by best directors about time. Wim Wender's "Twelve Miles to Trona" is quite trippy Very happy

...Jodorowosky's movies are trippy! The Holy Mountain got great soundtrack too...

Narrated by William Burroughs...

One of the most psychedelic flicks I've ever seen...

Wax - The discovery of Television Among the Bees

Can be watched entirely here: http://www2.iath.virgini...ie/1all/F/1/1a1a2a1.html

THE FOUNTAIN! Also saw Blueberry/Renegade for the first time the other night...

And another great favorite that seems horribly oral-DMT inspired is the entire Neon Genesis Evangelion series (26 episodes + two movies). It's insanely psychological and introspective, but certain psychedelics do lower my tolerance for giant robots smashing entire cities. This one could be better for the morning after. Pleased

I loved NGE. If you haven't seen it the end of evangelion is a nice little wrap up to the series imo.

The rebuilds are pretty decent as well--can't wait for the third. But yeah, the "End of Evangelion" is indispensable.

Especially when the psychedelic experience is taken as a NDE, for a week after watching this film all i could think about was death.

Renegade/Blueberry was great. Can't believe I had never heard about it before until the nexus. Thanks. Going to watch it again soon.
Let us declare nature to be legitimate. All plants should be declared legal, and all animals for that matter. The notion of illegal plants and animals is obnoxious and ridiculous.

Has anyone seen Enter The Void? It's about the Tibetan Book of the Dead, reincarnation, and DMT. I highly recommend watching it!
