Hi all, how is everyone? good to hear! ok my question is about acacia acuminata and if anyone has sucesfully extracted spice from this species of acacia. Wikipedia says that it may have up to 1.5% alkaloids but i have my doubts about anything i read on wiki. Any genuine info from the horses mouth would be very much appreciated, cheersVery happy

Have not personally done it, but I wouldn't be surprised by that percentage at all. The Acacia family tends to a lil high, relatively, in %alkaloids. Also, wiki is a pretty valid source on that stuff, especially if you check their citations and follow the links to the original sources. However, the wiki entry on A. Acuminata has nothing about alkaloid %. There was a great website that had %alkaloids broken down for like 15 different plants, but I can't remember it off the top of my head now. I'll post if I remember.

Acacia Acuminata may contain up to 1.5% alkaloids, but the largest part is Tryptamine, not Dimethyltryptamine. Not much point ...

From the horses mouth to the elf's spice pipe, I thoroughly encourage investigation. That wiki entry is old & out of date.

Swim knows of many people who have successfully extracted spice from Acacia Acuminata. it is quite high yielding actually. it was rather yellow though but sure did the trick. a defat would be a good idea.
