I was very upset to find out that Vibrasphere have decided to quit. The press release was sent to peeps on their mailing list... Here is what they had to say::

"Hello everyone!

We are very sorry to inform you that we have decided to close down the Vibrasphere project.
This is due to several reasons, but mainly Rickard and Robert feel it is time to move on to other projects within the music.
After all 12 years is a very long time for any music project.

We are very grateful to all the fans, promoters, labels, djs and other people that has supported us in the past 12 years.
We have many great memories from these years and sincerely hope that at least some of you will remember our music also in the years to come.

Vibrasphere will keep on performing live until the end of May 2011, the dates of their performances will be officially announced soon.
Any promoters interested in booking the Vibrasphere live act for this period are recommended to contact us asap at ...
However, we are both going to continue making music out of Cloud 99, but with separate projects. Robert is currently doing mastering
jobs for different labels and as for making music, Robert has a new release coming out on the long awaited Vanguard Vol. 3
compilation soon to be released on Tribal Vision, and will be releasing an solo album later in 2011. Those who are interested in his
mastering skills, contact Slater at... for further info.

The Vibrasphere website, download shop and merchandise shop will continue to operate and we will be announcing
news regarding our future music projects here as well.

All the best to all of you and thanks for everything

/Rickard & Robert''

Hey thanks for the heads up on this. Vibrasphere are quite recent musical discoveries of mine, this is a shame, bit sounds like the guys are moving onto pastures new. really wanted to experience them live at some point.

Too bad. I wanted to check them out live one of these days. But with every end comes a beginning and I am sure the artists involved in vibrasphere will still be producing some bad ass music.

Yeah, i bet they will make some amazing music in their solo acts. They definitely had a great run... 12 years i think!

Luckily i saw them live a few years back at the Jaxx club near London Bridge.

Goodness... could be forgiven for thinking they were brutally killed, going by the thread title.

Yeah man, There are far more bands of significance than vibrasphere, although I love their sound, I won't really feel the lack of any new releases. Such attention grabbing shit. There are musicians who've been composing and gigging for longer than 12 years who've never receieved any recognition whatsoever.

Peter Christopherson from Throbbing Gristle did pass away recently tho. Im surprised that didn't get a mention what with them being so influential.

I just found out about this only this morning. Very sad news. Reading all the comments on Brainwashed made me a little teary at work (but in a good way). I never met him, but he seemed like a beautiful and brave person and his music will always be something I go back to. In fact I think I'm going to put on 'Loves Secret Domain' right now.
