There was a documentary on PBS the other night where they went into plants of all types and how those plants effected humans throughout history. One of the most interesting parts of it is that this famous botanist said that every single culture in the world had some form of mind altering compound embedded in their culture except the Inuit tribe who live in a place where such things do not grow. If you have a chance to watch the show I recommend you check it out. There's some really dull stuff like about tulips and all but it has some great info if you hang in there. And of course they do a good part on the hemp plant as well.
