I have a few jars of naptha in the freezer, and white crystals are forming on the bottom.

I heard washing is only necessary for when you come up with brown/yellow crystals, but mine are white. Is it possible that there is lye in the product?

What would be the consequence of accidentally smoking a little bit of lye?

Its very unlikely that you have any lye in your final product. Unless if you were sloppy and pulled some of the basified solution too.

I see, thanks for the response. I was pretty careful when pulling the naptha.

I froze roughly ~ 30mL of naptha in one jar and here is the result.
