Two months ago I bought a cubensis stropharia growkit. It took about three weeks for the first shrooms to be harvested. In total I had 4 fushes out of the kit (after harvesting just soak it again overnight and let it sit in the back for another two weeks). The result one jar full of dried shrooms.

About a month ago I decided to make a journey with my brother and two friends. It has been years since I last did them, Previously I always took >3 gram which sometimes went good, other times not so good (but still good if you know what I mean).
|Since The last 10 years I am involved in fast paced work with long days and a lot of travel I decided to play safe an just took about 2 grams dried and made a tea from it.

We put up a Air playlist (which I believe are geniuses musically). Within 30 minutes after some stomach discomfort the first tracers and geometric patterns occurred when closing my eyes. Also the weird body feeling started to come up.

We started conversating which was very nice. From serious deep things to extremely funny anecdotes. Later on we put on a album of The moulding peaches which is only acoustic guitar with a guy and girl who sing the most hilarious texts. We laughed our balls off during whole the album.

All of us felt great during the 4-5 hour lasting trip. It didn t went as deep as a >3gram dose but still quite psychedelic and perfect for a reintroduction; no negative aspect at all.

Two weeks later I decided to take only 500mg of dried shrooms and surprisingly this was felt as well. Mostly the body feeling but also some slight visual alterations like rippling curtains and tracers. I decided to go out and had a great time socializing and dancing with friends and newly met people. For me its a great replacement of moderate alcohol consumption when going out.

I will continue to eat from my batch the coming months and will post experiences in this topic. Also I will comment how the batch degrades over time. I sealed them in a vacuum jar (with dry rice in the bottom to suck up moisture) in a dark place.

I got the kit (500 gram) form a local SmartShop. It's like a chinese take away container full of mycelium. Also included is a plastic bag with filtration ribs.

You just fill the container with tap water (I first boiled it and let it cool down to room temperature as a form off sterilization) unit no water can be added. Then you close the lid and wait for about 16 hours. Drain off the water and put the container in the bag. Wait for about one week to see little spikes coming up. One week later you're ready to harvest your first batch. After that refill it with water, let it stay for 12 hours and put it in the bag again. I had 4 flushes. Ech flush had about 130-175 grams of fresh shrooms.

I made a spore print as well so next time I'm going to try the real deal of making my own mycelium.

Ahh man, I remember my first trips off of my mushies.... A little helpful hint: Talk to them, while your on them, converse and watch them grow, touch them, be gentle, be nice... You'll love it and they will to Smile
01:13:08 ‹Ellis DEmpty› I met the people living in my head... I disturbed them while they were sitting down at the table.... They were as shocked as I was!

Hi Kevyn. I used to do shrooms quite often about ten years ago and had ego dissolving experiences several times. I indeed treated the grow process with respect. They were standing in my home recording studio absorbing the process of making music Smile. Better not to touch them though as this can contaminate their environment. If you want multiple flushes they are best to be left alone. Although talking to them might help if you believe in it.

Well, when I grew from cakes, it was just for personal use, and I had multiple flushes while tripping most everyday and watching them grow, playing with them and talking to them. Never had a contaminate. Once the myc is strong enough to grow the shroom, they are actually pretty contam resistant, just don't cough or touch with dirty hands or anything and you'll be fine Pleased But yea, to each their own xD

I am new to this forum and I am pleased to find this topic and the posts. I have experience in growing such mushrooms. I started growing back in the early 90s with a Cubensis kit. Nothing like those first shrooms coming up, is there? Indeed, my path lead on to multiple natural outdoor cultures of more potent indigenous mushrooms. I was living in the Pacific Northwest back in those days... But finding others who shared the same interest and discipline was not easy. Most only wanted to purchase my hard earned crop and selling was never a motivation for me. I would pick and choose those who I felt would truly appreciated what was being given to them. Oh boy, did they ever.

I have found, for me at least, a dried gram of Psilocybe Cyanescens (a very potent mushroom) will bring about a big change in one's thinking and purpose in life. Where as, with my Cubensis, perhaps a dose of 7 grams fresh was needed. Mind you, doses can very greatly from one batch to another, especially if picking wild mushrooms. Psilocybe Semilanceata, or better known as the Liberty Cap in the N.W.) can vary greatly in potency and I have tended to many who suffered overdoses. Of course, they may have had some Galerina Autumnalis mixed in with the other shrooms. I guess my point is this, be careful, learn, educate yourself, seek those who know through real experience, and enjoy one of the most powerful, awesome, and spiritual experiences nature has to offer.

Friday night I had my first San Pedro experience. I have not had natural mescalito in 25 years. I took 45 grams of Pedro powder from Peru. OMG! I am still absorbing all that occurred to me. I have never be so in tune with the spiritual realm, EVER! Very Colorful, very dynamic, very pleasurable, well, once my stomach settled down. I will wright a separate post of this experience. Let me say this much, Mescalito came to me on four legs then devoured all I thought and new was real. I am anew with purpose and prose. Inexplicably explicable. ;~)

Thanks for the post and good luck with your adventure.

Hi Kevin, I always thought that touching them could screw things up so I always thoroughly washed my hands/arms and minimized contact. Good to hear that I don't have to be so overly concerned about that.

Hi Gustatory, I'm really curious about your Mescaline experience. I'm in the process of extracting it and will then finally try mescaline for the first time. So your dose was about 300-400 mg. I think I start with 150 mg as I'm quite sensitive to psychs and work my way up. Or do you suggest to start higher. For shrooms I took up to 5.5 grams dried.

Poekus, yea once the mycelium has been established, you dont need to take to many precautions, although I will say, wash your hands/arms is fine and definitely good to do before. Also, touching the "mushroom" wont really contam anything, when you open the box up, make sure no fan is near (blows dust and stuff). Just like you can dunk them in normal tap water. Minimizing contact to the myc is a plus, because it will bruise easily and your flushes wont turn out as great. I was just saying that when I grew from cakes I personally ate them, so I didn't care Smile And talking and playing with them, felt awesome, very connecting. They are alive species after all Pleased You just have to know how to communicate with them.

Like, I used to ask them which ones were ready to be eaten, or I'd be picking one, and they'd tell me not to... I dunno how to explain it, mushrooms are my favorite life form on this planet, so genuine... so mystique... anyways thats just me Smile

Hi Poekus, I just posted "My first San Pedro Experience" in this forum for anyone to read. There is much more to the experience that words simply cannot do justice to. Once you have tried your extracted material, we will have much more common ground to share with, I assure you of this. I am still glowing and warm all over and I am no longer under the influence. It was one of the best experiences of my life and I look forward to hearing about yours and having my next dance with Mescalito.

More about Growing mushrooms...
Way back when I first did this, the kits we got were simply a spore smudge, some malt agar, petri dishes, a dissecting knife, inoculation loop, and an instruction manual that told you you need much more to do this with. LOL. I had to make my own sterile lab out of my walk-in closet, my own glove box, and had to purchase other things, e.g. A nice pressure cooker. It was a long while until I finally knew what I was doing and had a viable strain of mycelium growing in my petri dishes. I had mold growing everywhere and thought it was the latter. I finally bought a book called The Mushroom Cultivator and that is when things changed. Knowledge is everything and ignorance is the state produced from a lack of knowledge. eh hum. Yeap I was an ignorant enthusiasts for a time, but I learned so much in the long run and would not change my experience for anything. It sounds as though the kits you people are buying are much more advanced and take a lot of the sterile work out of the equation, which is a very nice thing. Good luck and happy trails.
