I promised I've looked all over Google and all through the threads, does anybody know any of the answers to the followings questions. Anyways, they'd be interesting to know, wouldn't they??
1. When, where and why is DMT produced by the bodies of mammals (except as a defense [e.g., toad, plants])?
2. Has it been conclusively proven that DMT is unique to the Sigma-1 receptor, i.e., that nothing else really fits in there?
3. What happens when a human being (or other mammal) goes completely DMT deprived?
4. Is there an anti-dmt through which we could tell? (some drug that would specifically inhibit ANY DMT reception by ANY receptor)?
5. Is there something estimated like a "normal" level of DMT in the human body per/kg at any given time (e.g., creatine, etc.)?
6.If so, what are the symptoms of a body with too little / too much endogenously produced DMT? Do male females levels differ? Is there a ciirepondence with creativity? etc.
7.What is DMT's LD50? Is there a level, mg wise, where it would do one absolutely no good take more; because you would either die, not notice any increase in effects, or just simply lose all conciousness or memory of the events that unfolded.
8. Is 5-MeO-DMT also endogenously produced in human beings, if so, then every single one of the above questions would be nice to know for it as well.
9.Exactly how much and how often and, most importantly, how consistent are DMT levels in human beings throughout the day and/or other animals.
10. I've read a tiny bit about tryptamine-N-methyltransferase, the process whereby the body makes DMT. Is there a way to increase this process, speed it up by eating L-Typtophan or something? I guess this ties in with question one, why and when does the body make DMT. If we know this, can we do things to assure that our body will make more?
11. Finally, once in the system, what is DMT metabolized into, how and what is it excreted as, and how can it be extracted from these (wih apologies to Endlessness) excretions assuming the amount wasn't less than %.05.

These are all really good, interesting and relevant questions. I really wish I knew the answers. Maybe the government will ease up on their restrictions on the study of the compounds in the future. FYI- Anything I post here is just stuff made up by my crazy brother who lives in my closet. I feed him jellybeans.

I thought about your questions a little and came up with a a few thoughts. #3-Maybe endogenous DMT is like a "light" that projects reality onto our conscious. If we didn't have DMT, perhaps we wouldn't be able to perceive much of anything at all. I imagine it to be like a film projector running without a light source behind the film. #6-too much DMT=schizophrenia or other psychological disorders that skew "reality" into forms not recognized by consensual reality? Too little and perhaps reality appears very simplistic and basic. In other words too little endogenous DMT and you only have an 8-bit, 16-color pallet with which to view things. I believe endogenous DMT definitely affects creativity or at least has an effect on the ability to see above and beyond routine reality. I'll bet if you sampled DMT levels in true mystics, shamans or great artists that their DMT levels would be higher than normal in some way. This stuff is really interesting to me. I've always wanted to get my MD and go work for MAPS! That would be amazing. FYI- Anything I post here is just stuff made up by my crazy brother who lives in my closet. I feed him jellybeans.
