Temp of soup and temp of the solvent play a role in what color it ends up being. Ive found warmer mixes pull more color. Freeze precip also helps in getting the white xtals. From the sounds of things you did a nice extraction  Well done Do you have final yield yet? And dude, this normans tek, what is it? or do you mean Nomans?

plz post a trip report on the stb crystals, i'm interested to here if you found the effects different at all. Interesting you say that. I am now convinced there is no difference between spice that has been pulled via STB or as a fumerate that has been converted. White crystals, orange wax, Yellow powder, amber honey..... The taste is different, the experience is not different. What do you mean when you say STB is too rough on the spice? Keep the basic material out of the solvent you are going to evap or freeze precip and you wont even be able to tell how it was extracted by taste. Ice House is an alter ego. I went to look at them today and they had turned into an orange wax. Magic I guess?

aloneits, i think your issue was with tempreture of storage. i've been interested in this myself; seems in order to keep it in its crystal form it needs to be kept in the fridge or freezer. otherwise, seems converting to salt is the best solution.
