I'm curious, what are the intentions that you feel are right before going into a trip? I understand that an intention is often beyond words, but I'm also sure you've tried to verbalize it before. I think everyone agrees that the intention to "have fun" or "trip out" is not the right one, and I've also read criticism of the approach where one takes DMT for its mood-enhancing benefits afterwards. So what's right?

I've had a nice experience by going in with the intention of wanting to "contribute" to hyperspace in whatever way. I chose that intention because it seemed to me like "wanting something out of it" is inherently selfish, and may lead to friction somehow. But maybe selflessness is not required?

I've become fond of antrocles "love & gratitude" mantra and use it often in everyday life, yoga, etc as well. Smile

SWIM always tries to formulate a verbal intention that aligns with where she's at when called. A lot of the time she will get called after realizing an irresponsible behavior pattern in her life, and so will ask for help healing that. Other times she will ask for advice regarding a specific situation in her life. After experiences that obviously had something to them that she could not process, she asks for help engaging with hyperspace more effectively.

Her most regular intention though, is help being a greater vehicle for love in the world.

love and gratitude works very well.

being sincere about your intention is good too.

keep it simple. no expectations.

I usually go in with the intention of learning what to do to make life better for me and those I'm closest to. I haven't been called for months but recent dreams have told me to make the journey. My intention now however will be "how can iI make life better for myself and those I'm closest to." I don't think it selfish to ask the beings there for help with your individual problems. Is it selfish to ask a math teacher for help with an equation you can't solve just because the rest of the class already have?

@fraterS.O.L. - You're right, maybe it's not selfish, maybe it's ok. I have a friend whom I think could use the healing properties of DMT, and I myself would love to get that serotonin boost. I may try going in with that idea, I just have this sense of respect for the spice trip, I want it to be friendly, not so much for my benefit to start with, but because it's so interesting. I guess I've answered my own hesitation there in that my most basic intentions are good.

Anyway, still curious about everyone's opinion and experience on this Smile

is it "wrong" to go into it without any intention at all? i've only gone 4 times and have only gone when i felt utterly compelled to go. it isn't until someone, before i go, asks me to think of my intentions that i actually think of my intentions.
just be yourself... everyone else is already taken

I don't think it's wrong. (Perhaps "right" and "wrong" are the wrong terms.) That's how I went in a lot of the time too. Thing is, we have an intention wether we realize it or not. And now that I think about it, it seems to me like an intention is not so much something to be decided upon, but really something to realize through a bit of soul searching, as part of the whole process. And a bit of reflexion can certainly allow to "set" or "modify" the intention. My impression anyway. Yoga class is also an occasion to set an intention, but I generally find myself stumped in there too.

I think you hit the nail on the head there. "One cannot completely know the motivations of a mans heart." I believe this holds true for our own as well. We can't say our intentions are good or bad because these terms are far to subjective. I think what I really wanted to say is that as long as you come to the spice with humility you will be rewarded. Part of this is wishing for an improvement of one's self. Acknowledging that we have much room for improvement is one step towards being a more humble person. We all have a lot to learn and these beings we meet behind the veil want to teach us. Yet you cannot be taught anything if you believe you know everything.
