I am considering a few experiments. I may want to try taking the grass supplements when there is NO MAOI in my body (mmm... bummer... I love Aya), or, I may want to try a synthetic melatonin. If my sensitivity is really through the roof, though, I don't know how wise a synthetic supplement at a higher dose would be. Cherries are also the next highest food source of melatonin, so I might just go batshit crazy and eat ten pounds of cherries every day for a few days. Or I may not do any of these things, it's quite speculative. I am madly intrigued, however. Some things will come easy, some will be a test

What exactly are 'magic grass' capsules?
If you're sure it isn't just the caapi and you want to find out what it is, you can only do one thing: taking each of the substances you'v been taking in the highest dose in wich you where taking them, and to take them with and without caapi.
Still i think that if the magic-grass doesn't contain any tryptamine like phalaris does, it must have been the caapi.
Fractal enchantment reported, after a period of daily caapi-intake, that he started having extremely intense experiences with it. Another person who has experience with daily use of caapi, acolon_5 says that you become more sensitive to it after a period of daily use.
There can be things in your diet that just synergize in an odd way with caapi.
It could also be that your diet is a bit too rigid. Some people respond heavily to sudden changes in their diet and get weird symptoms after a view months. It may be that on the whole your diet is very healthy, but that you just miss out on one or two little things, wich would explain that overall you feel good and healthy, but that you suddenly experienced this weird 'attacks'.

I have heard a similar story from a woman who used melatonin on a nightly basis. It gave her very unpleasant nightmares after a couple of nights. That could indicate that (in my opinion) some of the melatonin gets converted to DMT in the body. This can be done by methylating tryptamines in the pineal gland by using its methyltransferases. Having more DMT in your system at night than usually could provoke anxiety and nightmares (if not prepared). What do you think?

I think that DMT does not give me anxiety attacks Beside that, there is no proof that DMT is produced by the pineal gland. This is speculation by Rick Straßmann.

Yup...no INMT present...the pineal is not producing DMT. Obliguhl, do you consume ANY form of caffeine or stimulants? Once I started working with melatonin, I had to cut all of these out of my diet 100%, because the tiniest taste of anything would freak me right out, I would be awake until the crack of dawn with horrendous anxiety attacks. Without any kind of stimulants, however, everything is okay. I know exactly what you mean, though... I wonder why this is?? Some things will come easy, some will be a test

I don't think that's possible. there is no mechanism nor set of enzymes that will remove both the hydroxyl and acetyl groups. the methylating enzyme in the pineal gland is 5-HOIMT, not INMT. the latter is responsible for DMT production. furthermore, in vivo DMT production never reaches the millimolar concentration required for active dosage-type effects. it's present in low nanomolar concentration, well below threshold doses, and MAO makes quick work of it. clearly a case of feedback inhibition. http://dl.clackamas.edu/ch106-08/enzyme1.htmit may be a better idea to [sparingly] take an l-tryptophan (or 5-HTP) supplement. take a precursor rather than an end product.
